About Nima
In addition to working in policy, I am a PhD student in the Communication department at UC San Diego. I've written a handful of published papers and policy reports, as well as dozens of graduate-level course papers, so I know my way around formal writing! My teaching experience stretches back more than 7 years, including a year as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate Communication courses. I can't stress it enough: I love reading student papers, giving feedback, and watching my students' writing improve.

Having forged my teaching methodology in Computer Science, I believe that foundational skills are of utmost importance. I will read and annotate your drafts, give constructive feedback, and take you through exercises that will help you build confidence in tackling essays and papers. If you have a specific skill that you are trying to develop, I will create a custom lesson plan to focus our time specifically on it!
Together, we'll work through the stages of writing: brainstorming, researching, outlining, drafting, and polishing. I'll meet you where you're at, no matter where you are on your writing journey.
These lessons are for people who are writing non-fiction, such as college essays, research papers, reports, policy briefs, and technical documentation.
