About Jamie
Bonjour tout le monde! I'm an 19-year-old fluent French speaker who is here to help as someone who absolutely understands being a young adult language learner!
As a bilingual French speaker who learned French entirely through education, I understand how difficult language-learning can be! I have always loved languages, ever since I began to learn French as a child. I knew when I was very young that I wanted the skills to be able to connect with others on a global scale and actively engage in other cultures. Currently, I am studying French and Beginners’ Portuguese at the University of Oxford. I also have a high level of Spanish from GCSE and sixth form study. I believe my passion for language-learning will come across in every tutoring session, and I aim to inspire my students to take French further than the classroom.
If you love language learning, want to learn something new, or simply need help with a tricky bit of French grammar, I'm here to help. I believe modern languages proficiency is an incredibly valuable skill in our increasingly globalised society, and I would love to be able to inspire a future generation of language-learners.

I aim for my lessons to be as enjoyable as possible, and to create a no-stress, friendly environment. Lesson content will be at the student's discretion - I provide French teaching at all levels, from Beginner to Advanced, and can help with GCSE, A-level, IB, and DELF/DALF qualifications. I also aim to provide my students with knowledge of French and global culture by including facts about French current affairs and social issues in my lessons.
My proficiency in French originates from my time studying at the French American School of Puget Sound in Seattle, USA, where I developed French fluency from the age of 3. I now hold certificates in both DELF B1 and DALF C1, and have achieved GCSE French grade 9. I am currently a sixth form student studying French Literature (Language A) as part of the IB Diploma Programme, and have received an undergraduate university offer in French and Beginner's Portuguese from the University of Oxford, where I shall hopefully be enrolling in October 2023.
