About Michael
I am a writer based in Liverpool. I have a Masters in Creative Writing and a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing. I was shortlisted for the Sunderland Short Story Award 2018 and longlisted in 2019, I was then longlisted for the Cambridge Short Story Prize 2021, and I was runner-up for the University of Liverpool Writing Competition 2022. My novel won a place on the WriteNow event with Penguin Random House in 2017.
I have had short stories and poetry published in several magazines, including Open Pen, Ellipsis, and In The Red, and I had a short story included in the 2019 anthology, Still Worlds Turning. I am part of a writing workshop with other published authors, including James Rice, author of Alice and the Fly and Walk (Hodder & Stoughton), in both of which I have an acknowledgement.

Everyone works differently, and I can adapt to all types of learning. These one-hour lessons/workshops will help you think like a writer and get you to apply your creative skills to form your own voice.
Plot, dialogue, description, and forming characters are just a few of the aspects of creative fiction writing which you'll work on through a number of exercises. I'll also offer reading lists to suit you and teach you methods of best practise in order to build your self-discipline.
I can also offer poetry workshops as well.
