i will explain the question in a differnant way. What do rivers and glaciers do to fragments of rock? Is that easier to understand ?

They break them up and wear them down and eventually into sand along their journey

In rivers they bounce against the river bed or wear away against each other and initally make them more rounded and smooth

There is a similar process with glaciers but obviously it takes a lot longer as the glacier moves much slover

also with the melting and re-freezing of the glacier this puts pressure on the rocks and breaks them up as melted water enters into cracks, freezes and expands the cracks eventually breaking them into smaller pieces
