About Elise
I bring over 4 years of experience teaching piano, both in-person and online, to a wide range of students. Holding a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy focus, I combine academic training with a passion for mentoring. My lessons prioritize strong sight-reading skills, refined score analysis, and the ability to interpret advanced classical repertoire with confidence. I encourage students to not just play, but to think, listen, and create meaning with every phrase. Technical progress is supported through carefully chosen finger exercises and warm-ups. To enrich lessons, I weave in music history, theory, and stylistic traditions from different periods. This creates a fuller, more holistic understanding of music. I’ve worked with beginners building foundational skills, intermediate learners expanding repertoire, and professionals perfecting performance standards. My teaching adapts to the needs of each student, ensuring that progress feels personal and meaningful. Every lesson is a balance of discipline and creativity. Piano lessons with me are built on balance: classical artistry and modern creativity. I focus on sight-reading, technique, and expressive interpretation, but I also bring technology into the practice. Students learn to use digital pianos, MIDI controllers, and synthesizers to shape sound in exciting ways. We also work with DAWs to explore recording, layering, and editing. This makes practice more engaging and expands what a piano can do. Basic recording techniques are introduced so students can capture and evaluate their progress. I believe learning should be adaptable, flexible, and student-centered. Beginners are guided patiently, while advanced performers are challenged to refine their skills. For highly talented students, I offer extra support in expanding their artistry through electronic tools. This creates new possibilities for performance and creativity. Every lesson is designed to be both structured and inspiring. I encourage all students to explore their full potential.
