About Beth
Hello! My name is Beth, I am originally from Scotland and now living in Montreal. I have played violin for over 15 years with the guidance of fantastic teachers such as Callum Smart and Cecily Ward. I also have experience playing and teaching viola too! I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance with first class honours, and I am now completing my Master’s degree at McGill University. I have performed with various orchestras, including the Orchestre Classique de Montreal, in many chamber music settings as well as performing solo recitals.
I am classically trained, although I do also enjoy traditional/folk music and pop music too!

I am a friendly face who is enthusiastic about teaching music to students of any level and any age! I believe in tailoring my lessons to the goals and desires of each student - with an overall aim of bringing you to the best level of musicianship possible, whilst simultaneously enjoying the process. Whether you just want to try a new hobby, or are serious about making a career in music, I am ready and happy to help! I am able to teach both the technicalities of the instruments as well as overall musicianship (including music theory and ear training) to boost your knowledge and reach your full potential!
