About Quinn
I hold a Master’s degree in Music with a concentration in violin and have taught students for over 7 years in private, academic, and virtual settings. My background includes solo performance, orchestral experience, and chamber music, which I bring into my teaching approach. My students range from young beginners to adult learners, and I tailor lessons to suit different learning speeds, goals, and styles. I’ve helped prepare students for school auditions, graded exams, and personal musical milestones, always emphasising patience, progress, and enjoyment. Teaching violin allows me to combine technical skill with personal connection. I believe every student can grow with the right guidance and encouragement. I focus on building both musical ability and artistic confidence, creating an environment where learning feels both challenging and rewarding.

Each violin lesson begins by focusing on posture, instrument handling, and foundational bowing. Whether you're starting fresh or returning after a break, we move at a pace that encourages confidence while covering essential techniques like tuning, finger placement, and basic rhythm. As you develop, lessons expand into music reading, scales, and expressive phrasing. You’ll work on simple melodies and gradually transition into more complex pieces suited to your level. We incorporate both classical repertoire and modern selections to keep the learning dynamic and enjoyable. Advanced sessions cover vibrato, shifting, and performance preparation. Students also explore ensemble playing, improvisation, and musical interpretation to deepen their understanding and expression. Each lesson is personalised, focusing on steady improvement while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the instrument.
