About Mercey
I am a passionate piano teacher with over 9 years of experience guiding students on their musical journey. With an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance, I bring both academic training and stage experience into my lessons. My greatest joy as a teacher is helping students connect emotionally with music. I believe piano playing should be more than notes on a page—it should be an expressive and personal experience. At the same time, I emphasise strong foundations in theory, technique, and musical understanding. I structure lessons to balance skill-building with creativity. Scales, chords, and exercises develop precision and control, while carefully chosen repertoire allows students to apply these skills in meaningful ways. I also encourage interpretation, phrasing, and expression so each piece feels alive. Over the years, I have worked with beginners discovering their first melodies, as well as advanced players preparing for performances and exams. Each student brings a unique set of goals, and I adapt my approach to help them succeed. My teaching style is warm, supportive, and focused on steady progress. I celebrate every achievement, big or small, and help students overcome challenges with patience and encouragement. I invite you to join me in exploring the beauty of the piano.
