When we got started, in 2013, tutoring (and Superprof) was mainly an academic pursuit. School students were struggling under their heavy academic load and tutors were available to help them.
The pandemic put many students in a very vulnerable situation, and dropout rates spiked at all academic levels. Fortunately, our proposal has been helpful to those students having to claw back lost learning that affected many during the lockdown.

As passionate as we are about the service we provide and the level of commitment we bring to serving both tutors and students, it's rather dismaying for us to read the few negative reviews on sites such as Glassdoor and Trustpilot.
Thankfully enough, they have nothing to do with what we do; that shows that Superprof indeed renders a valuable service. Those dislikes all revolve around students not understanding the nature of Superprof's business model.
We are a subscription service that charges students a monthly fee for as long as they keep their accounts open.
While it costs nothing for tutors to publish their profiles and students to review them, should a student wish to connect with a Superprof, they have to set up an account. When they set up their account, they are notified of Superprof's terms and services as a subscription platform that gives them access to millions of tutors around the world.
The most effective way to use your Superprof subscription is to take your time, carefully combing through Superprof tutor profiles until you have three to five whose profiles come the closest to what you're looking for.
The payment fee to access the Superprof platform is 39 per month. Once you initiate contact, your subscription goes live; Superprof will withdraw your monthly fee from the payment source you provided when you started your subscription.
Once you connect with the right Superprof tutor for your needs, you may agree to take your partnership off the Superprof platform by cancelling your subscription. You will still have access to your Superprof tutor - and still, be responsible for paying their fee, but you won't be charged for your subscription anymore.

How do you verify your tutors credentials? As I have seen someone I know very well advertise as a tutor on your site and are lying about their experience and being economical with the truth with other aspects of their advert which is misleading people.

Since we are a platform connecting tutors and students, anybody can create a profile. They have to provide documentation such as ID, Degree certification, and verify their email and phone number. But the best and most reliable tutors on the website are those with the Super Tutor and Ambassador status. These are tutors who have received multiple positive reviews from students met through Superprof, and this helps us to know who the best tutors are.

Hello, I went to pay the £39 for my tutor but was told no that’s the fee for superprof! I didn’t realise I had to pay superprof a fee. Suggests the wording is ambiguous for me to think I was paying that to the tutor. I know many people have made that mistake and the management are evidently reluctant to change the wording on that basis. So much for trust and honesty.

Hello, I have stopped this subscription and asked for a refund, I received the refund, but I’m still being charged $49.00 a month. The service was terrible and our tutor. Was never available.
