We're living in strange times, from a fitness perspective. The human body is designed to move, but we have little space to move in our crowded capital city. The type of moving we do matters, too. Taking a nightly stroll is fine, but it doesn't make up for the full workouts we need to stay healthy.

Safari MMA

MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts, not a sport we traditionally associate with women. The question is: why not? Safari takes 'why not?' and runs with it. These coaches bypass the question altogether to embrace MMA for women as a matter of course.
Khadijah Safari, Safari MMA CEO, intends to open more outlets across the UK. Already, we find activity in Milton Keynes. And, Safari's Midlands initiative counts among the best all-female fitness programmes Birmingham.
Safari MMA trainers do not work in a dedicated facility. Instead, they host classes in fitness facilities around London and other parts of England.
As such, we're hard-pressed to describe any of these facilities, their operating hours, or the amenities you can expect to find there. However, we can describe what Safari's MMA classes are like.
- Beginner kickboxing: an easy introduction to Muay Thai techniques
- Fitnastics: a medium-power, all-around workout
- Pilates: a medium-difficulty, low-impact, full body workout
- Muay Thai: a challenging, whole-body workout
- Yoga: a medium-intensity, relaxing, healing session
⏰Operating hours: according to class schedule
💰Price: £49/month for classes; £89/month for unlimited access
📍Location: various sites around London (see timetable for specifics)

Even if you don't mind working out in a studio with men, these training halls are worth considering. They host a list of classes and have all the equipment needed to reach your fitness goals.

Frame
This delightful franchise, with three facilities in London, aims to bring back the zest and joy of 90s workout routines. You might join them for an energetic aerobics dance session, or get more serious with Pilates or sculpting classes. Frame's course list includes some workouts even more energetic than that, too.
Like Heartcore, Frame is not a women's only gym in London. However, female fitness enthusiasts enjoy Frame's focus on women's fitness issues, as seen in its Mumhood class offerings.

And besides, women vastly outnumber men in practically all Frame classes.

Personal Trainer Workouts
Whether you choose an all-female gym in London, a regular gym, or a gym with a ladies-only area, working out with a private fitness coach delivers results. That's because your one-to-one mentor commits to helping you reach your fitness goals, rather than to the class they teach.
However, as we learned when reviewing ladies-only gyms in Liverpool, many women don't feel ready for the gym scene. If that's you, try contacting any of the facilities we featured, to ask about online lessons. Or, you can search for a private fitness professional on your own. To search efficiently, turn to Superprof.

Getting Fit with Superprof
You'll find 835 Superprof fitness trainers in London alone, and thousands more who give lessons online. To save time, you can filter your search results to suit your budget, location, and schedule. And then, once you've found a few likely candidates, you can read their past students' testimonials, and about these trainers' qualifications.
Superprof fitness tutors are upfront about their pricing, and most offer their first hour at no cost. That gives you a chance to go over your fitness goals, and determine if that's the right trainer for you. Often, Superprof personal trainers have the same qualifications as gym trainers do, but they charge a lot less.
