About Lauren
I always knew I wanted to teach, and I found my first calling working with youth in my own community. Through both volunteer and professional positions, I have worked with students and their families pre-k through high school (& some awesome adults too!). It's quite rewarding to help students overcome the hurdles they encounter on their educational journeys and see them grow!
I have five children myself ages 17 down to 1, plus two dogs and a bearded dragon! And I continue to work with several organizations in my community--so I fully understand the juggle!

Set up for success: Let's take a few minutes to understand our current knowledge base & identify our goals!
At your own pace: Every student learns differently! Whether working individually or in a group setting, we can't expect everyone to work at the same pace. Some people needs things explained in different ways. Others simply need guidance through additional practice. Some are more visual, and some are more hands on. Let's do our best to identify your learning style & take it one step at a time!
Lesson plans: Students always have a goal they want to achieve, so let's work within what's already familiar. Do you use a certain textbook or software at school? How are tests created? Do you have a certain focus you'd like to grow your skill set in? A lesson plan doesn't have to be formal & rigid, just like learning!
Paving a path: Education is just as much organization as it is learning new information. Let's make sure we have a plan for how to move forward successfully until we get together again!
*For math lessons, I focus on elementary- and middle-school (or early high school) subjects. I also support teens and adults in creating personal budgets and understanding how to navigate daily expenses.
