My teaching method focuses on understanding of the underlying principle to the work - I firmly believe that once the underlying principle makes sense on an intuitive level to the student, it is then simple to apply that to any problem.
I take my lead from the student, to see what topics need extra support. I'll go through the theory until its understood and then reinforce it with sample and past paper questions. I find it best to review topics learnt every few weeks, to give the student confidence that they know and have thoroughly learnt topics.
I base my classes on first trying a few questions to ascertain the ability of my student at the current task. I then find any holes in understanding and misconceptions. Finally, we will work together to eliminate these both with explanation and practice questions until the student has a deep understanding of the topic and can comfortably answer questions on the topic.
When tutoring I am mostly Exam Focussed, tailoring lesson plans to meet exam expectations and delivering specific information that guarantees your success. I will usually perform an initial assessment to find out where you are as far as Grades are concerned. I will then tailor lessons to strengthen the weak areas that were found during the initial assessment.
When learning any topic, there is an easy way and a hard way. The easy way builds a foundation of simple topics and cements them to build higher level concepts on top of. The hard way tries to build the higher level concepts without a firm foundation.
Lesson subject matter is usually student-led, but always encompasses brain warm-ups and an infusion of history to give the subject more relevance. I bring along a whiteboard and pens for both of us to use, to promote conversation and the flow of ideas.
According to my two years experience, I made a difference to: • Each student’s achievement in mathematics • Each student’s experience of learning mathematics. This includes feelings of satisfaction with meeting challenges, being valued as a person, learning things that have meaning in your life and getting rewards for making significant efforts.
Friendly and dedicated tutor who wants to make students reach their full potential in fields such as Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish.
When you're really stuck with Maths, it sucks, isn't it? I remember how a little bit of one to one tutoring had helped me develop a logical way of tackling problems. My teaching focuses on the following: 1. Reading the question damn right 2. Visualising what it's asking 3. Going backwards 4. Consider quicker alternative methods (i.e. symmetry) 5. Understanding of the concepts 6.
I appreciate that all students learn differently and so I like to adapt my style for each learner. My main foundations however are making the topics interesting and engaging through relevant examples and also ensuring a firm understanding of the core subject matter so that it can be built upon later.
Although, I tutor KS2, KS3 and A-Level Maths, GCSE and iGCSE Maths is the qualification that I enjoy teaching the most and is my specialism. I tutor to all ages and abilities. My tutoring methodology is very much student-centred with the aim of creating an enjoyable and effective learning environment.
I am a QUB maths student currently sitting on a First. At the moment I am studying mostly Quantum Mechanics but I have in the past studied a combination of pure and applied maths and statistics. In school I achieved A*s in GCSE Maths and Additional Maths (now called Further Maths), and A*, B in Maths and Further Maths at A-level respectively.
I have taught GCSE and A level maths and further maths for over 25 years, both as a tutor and teaching in a variety of organisations, from independent and state schools to sixth form and further education colleges. I have very good knowledge of the latest changes in the GCSE and A level maths curriculum and how best to deliver the content in either a one to one or group situation.
I aim to give the most useful tools to help increase learning efficiency and ensure ease of learning and encouraging improvement. I can teach anyone if any ability whether it be small or large changes needed.
I believe the key to my success at GCSE and A Level was determining my learning style. This is so important as the way students are taught in school doesn't always work for everybody. I aim to help my pupils discover this and tailor the lessons to suit.
I am comfortable teaching sciences and maths at both GCSE and A-Level as my background is entirely in the sciences. The two most important things about tuition are that the the lessons are enjoyed and the student benefits academically. Thus, I aim to make my lessons as organised as possible and adapted to each tutee on a individual basis.
I give lessons to students studying science or mathematics topics at GCSE or A-level. I like to use an adaptive approach to teaching which involves identifying the areas a student is struggling with and focusing on them by breaking them down into easy to understand concepts and developing the skills the student needs to tackle these concepts independently in their exams.
My teaching methods are based on lecture notes and textbooks. I focus on covering the key concepts during the class. Normally I require students to practice problems at home. During the class I will go through them and try to help the students build the links between different areas of the subject.
My style of teaching is fairly relaxed and open. I approach each topic individually depending on the problem you, the student, are having. Whether it's a difficult concept or learning a technique to improve problem solving, I am happy to help.
My teaching methodology is mainly helping the students with their homework and giving them methodological tips to solve Mathematical problems. Moreover, for the languages it would mainly be conversation. Finally, to help students with their application for universities, I would help them to get out of the struggles the are having.
My teaching methodology is based on the use of clear examples through demonstration and discussion on specific problem-areas that are of interest to the students.
I have gotten A grades for A-level Maths and English Literature. I am currently studying Philsophy with an emphasis on logical thinking, so am well equipped to tutor in these areas. I respond to the needs of the student, if they tell me what they need help with then I assist. I think knowledge found is more valuable than knowledge given.
I am a first year Physics undergraduate. I go through the chapters first and make sure that the student understands all the concepts very well, provide notes for each chapter if the student needs it and then go through questions with them teaching them how to approach a question and how to structure it.
My name is Anri. I've lived in Greece for 11 years and in Italy for 12 years. I've got a Master's degree in building engineering and I've been tutoring for almost a decade now. I know that it is difficult for a student to comprehend some subjects and that's why I never give for granted anything.
I currently teach KS3, IGCSE and A-Level Maths at an international school, where I specialise in Cambridge International Examinations. My lessons consist of doing a starter based on a previous topic or background knowledge needed for the new topic. Then I teach the concept, do a couple of examples and I let pupils try exercises on their own, with scaffolding if needed.
I am teacher of maths in a secondary school in Manchester with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham. My enthusiasm for teaching, my awareness of different learning styles and versatility in my explanations has helped pupils achieve exemplary results in their GCSEs and A-Levels. I am a friendly, engaging and encouraging teacher with a proven track record of success.
My teaching method is generally guided by the student and what they require help with. This may involve going through their textbook with them to explain topics they are unsure of in a more helpful way. Or going through questions they have been set for homework or past exam papers.
I'm currently a student at the Exeter Mathematics School looking to help Secondary School students with their Mathematics. Given the new GCSE's graded 1 to 9, the difficulty of Mathematics at the secondary school level has risen greatly and a lot of students struggle with it's memory oriented exams.
I'll start teaching from basics if a student knows basics then I'll start from whatever he/she wishes to learn.
I have finished my maths A level and received an A*, as well as maths being the subject that I want to study at university . I have an interest in learning university level maths as well, as I did before starting my A levels. As per teaching, I have tought maths and English to children in need in a developing country (as well as my three younger siblings:)).
