I have a PhD in Neuroscience from UCL and research the molecular and cellular biology of the brain. I provide some tutoring for MSc students and supervise PhD students regularly.
When tutoring I am mostly Exam Focussed, tailoring lesson plans to meet exam expectations and delivering specific information that guarantees your success. I will usually perform an initial assessment to find out where you are as far as Grades are concerned. I will then tailor lessons to strengthen the weak areas that were found during the initial assessment.
My teaching method is as hands-on as possible. I will ask them to try and solve the problem as much as they can and then explain step-by-step how to solve it showing how it differed from their attempt. With children who find it easier to visual the problem I will use 3D models and props to help teach them.
My teaching method is called explain-repeat. I explain the topic to my student in detail and then ask them to repeat that to me. By doing so, the student has the ability to have all parts of the brain that is responsible for memorizing involved.
My teaching method is topic based, and depends upon which area and to which level the student needs tutoring, obviously each student will have a teaching plan catered specifically to them.
I have taught GCSE and A level maths and further maths for over 25 years, both as a tutor and teaching in a variety of organisations, from independent and state schools to sixth form and further education colleges. I have very good knowledge of the latest changes in the GCSE and A level maths curriculum and how best to deliver the content in either a one to one or group situation.
when i teach i show the student the fun side of what they're doing and the simplicity and elegance of it. this helps them to understand the roots of the topic and therefore tackle any question thrown their way, i usually teach A level students as I know a levels can be tough at first but after they understand what they are doing they are completely fine.
I give lessons to students studying science or mathematics topics at GCSE or A-level. I like to use an adaptive approach to teaching which involves identifying the areas a student is struggling with and focusing on them by breaking them down into easy to understand concepts and developing the skills the student needs to tackle these concepts independently in their exams.
I am a passionate, enthusiastic and resilient newly qualified teacher of mathematics. I'm trained to teach children in the 11-18 age range (secondary school) . However, with my Qualified teacher and PGCE status, I can teach in primary school too. I believe every child should be encouraged to explore how far they can go to achieve their very best in mathematics.
My teaching method would be to interact with the student and ask what they already know and help them further to understand and teach them what they need.
I currently teach KS3, IGCSE and A-Level Maths at an international school, where I specialise in Cambridge International Examinations. My lessons consist of doing a starter based on a previous topic or background knowledge needed for the new topic. Then I teach the concept, do a couple of examples and I let pupils try exercises on their own, with scaffolding if needed.
I'm currently a student at the Exeter Mathematics School looking to help Secondary School students with their Mathematics. Given the new GCSE's graded 1 to 9, the difficulty of Mathematics at the secondary school level has risen greatly and a lot of students struggle with it's memory oriented exams.
My teaching method includes doing a lot of examples and past papers, practising methods until things make sense.
A highly motivated and dedicated student Of mechanical engineering with extensive tutoring experience in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics. I’ve been teaching these subjects privately to GCSE/O-LEVEL and Alevel students from 4 years now helping 100's of students achieve their academic goals. I on average manage to get my students achieve 2 grades higher than their predicted grades..
I have finished my maths A level and received an A*, as well as maths being the subject that I want to study at university . I have an interest in learning university level maths as well, as I did before starting my A levels. As per teaching, I have tought maths and English to children in need in a developing country (as well as my three younger siblings:)).
As an experienced primary school teacher, I am able to adjust my tutoring style to the individual needs of each student. I plan child-led activities which are engaging and fun, offering the appropriate level of challenge to enable my pupils to achieve their full potential.
I am a qualified Performing Arts teacher who has also been teaching Maths in private tuitions for more than 25 years.
I am a 2nd year Astrophysics student at Cardiff University, comfortable teaching maths and physics from Secondary to A level. I aim to achieve a fun and comfortable learning environment, structuring my lessons around the tutee's preferences. I like to get to know my tutee and understand what they wish to get out of our tutoring sessions. I then plan my sessions to ensure they achieve the goals.
With over 30 years experience of teaching children and young people from 4 - 18 years old, I am available to provide a range of services in a 15 miles radius from Hythe: Tutoring - pre-school readiness, basic literacy and numeracy ages 4 - adult, SATS, Kent test, general homework support, Maths to GCSE level 4, English to A' level, exam revision techniques.
I am studying physics at Oxford University (entry 2015) and received a Distinction in the first year and a First Class in the second year. I started from a small village in Greece and got into university by teaching myself physics and maths because I could not afford otherwise. Eventually, I scored high in the PAT (physics aptitude test) and the Oxford interviews.
I had a great experience in physics teaching after my graduation I started as a Physics demonstrator for a long time. I worked as well as physics lecturer.
As a student myself I and many of my colleages have found it usefull to learn and revise by using the specifications provided by the each exam board. This provides a sructure to the learning and ensures that your child will have an understanding of all the topics that could be on their exam.
I have only had experience teaching GCSE and A Level, but would consider helping out undergraduates. As a scientist, I wholeheartedly believe in the value of teaching from first principles. You don't have to remember how to do something if you understand the concept. I also did not achieve my full potential in A Level, but I went on to achieve well at university.
I use personalised tutoring to compliment learners school/college maths lessons by keeping regular communication with the topics covered in class to reinforce core mathematical concepts and revise for specific forthcoming tests/examinations. This has resulted in learners achieving their goals, whether that be moving up a set in school or acceptance into their 1st choice Russel Group University.
I have trained in school science pedagogy at the Institute of Education so I am aware of scaffolding techniques that involve questioning and producing resources with appropriate (audio)visual aids to guide students through learning that is both independent and suited to their abilities.
I'm a PhD student fluent in both languages Arabic and English. I have a good level of experience in teaching all of chemical, physics and Math lessons. I'm good in finding out many different ways to explain such a questions in the fields mentions previously.
I graduated from the University of Southampton in 2016 with a 1st Class (Hons) Master's degree in physics. Since graduating, I worked for an educational consultancy company creating lecture presentations and assessments for specific GCSE and A Level examination boards (AQA, EDEXCEL, EDEXCEL IGCSE). I provide tutoring sessions for GCSE and A level students studying physics and mathematics.
When you're really stuck with Maths, it sucks, isn't it? I remember how a little bit of one to one tutoring had helped me develop a logical way of tackling problems. My teaching focuses on the following: 1. Reading the question damn right 2. Visualising what it's asking 3. Going backwards 4. Consider quicker alternative methods (i.e. symmetry) 5. Understanding of the concepts 6.
I am a petroleum engineer with experience in field and in research as well, currently doing a MSc. I have taught to University students mainly studying engineering or areas involved with maths. But I have also taught to students in secondary or high school from basic algebra, trigonometry to multi variable calculus. I have taught to small groups (3 or 4 people) or individually.
I am a Blackpool Sixth Form College student who is taking A-level Maths, A-level Chemistry, A-level Biology. For my GCSE maths I was in the top 2% of the country and achieved an A**. I am quite good at slowing methods down and explaining stuff step-by-step.
