About Cheryl
Hi, I’m Cheryl. I’m an English teacher. I love English because words are the most powerful things that anyone can access.
My favourite book is The Color Purple, because postcolonial literature is an area that I’m particularly interested in. I am mixed heritage, so am always keen to read about other cultures.
I became a teacher because I have always enjoyed helping others reach their full potential. Plus, I get to share my love of books and writing stories.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy writing stories and plays. I’m about to begin studying for an MA in Creative Writing.

Hi, I’m Cheryl. I am an English teacher with 16 years of experience including being Head of English for two years.
I have a solid knowledge of the GCSE syllabus for English Language and Literature, and have coached students for the 11+ literacy conponents.
My approach is to tailor support to the individual student, identifying areas of strength and development and then build on this, helping students feel confident about forthcoming exams.
I also have extensive knowledge and experience in supporting a wide range of SEND and have taught students with ASD and ADHD among other needs.
Student and parent feedback has been very positive. I have been told I’m warm, friendly and motivating with a calm manner.
I am also able to support anyone who needs help with CV writing and creative writing projects.
