  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Drawing is one of the major forms of expression within the visual arts. It is generally concerned with the marking of lines and areas of tone onto paper/other material, where the accurate representation of the visual world is expressed upon a plane surface. Drawing and art is a subject where every person comes with their own definition. For me, personally drawing is something that soothes my mind, the paper is where I narrate my stories. My composure is at its highest when I'm working on a drawing.
Talk about my interest, it all started when I was a 3y/o child since my childhood art and drawing fascinated me a lot, and every day I use to enjoy it practicing. As I grew up I converted my hobby into a career and started off my design journey.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

For this I have a lot of stories relating to it but I would like to share a story of one of my most favorite motivator and mentor. So when I was in class 11th, I had fine arts as my optional subject where I had an amazing teacher who was too good with his skills and specialization, and one day I randomly asked him why don't you sell your artwork sir, and work as a freelancer instead of teaching in a school. To which he replied I don't want to constrain my skills to myself, I want to gift them to all my students so that in the future instead of selling one such painting to could see thousands of painting getting sold at millions of dollars.
That day I was so much engrossed by his words that I decided to share all my skills that I learned throughout my life.
  • How does your work help society?

In today's time, the world has become very small, to be the best you need to think out of the box, you have to broaden up your vision. For every different person, art means different. Art in general is anything that broadens your consciousness shows you something you have not considered before, makes you aware of something new. Learning it or developing good drawing skills not only improves your hand control but makes you aware of your surroundings and builds up observation skills and eventually improves your memorizing power.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

For me there is no one such person as a role model. I feel since my childhood who boosted me appreciated me, and majorly the people who criticized and didn't like my work were the people who actually polished and made me think from a bigger point of perspective. That's what I make my students understand that bad comments or critiques on your artwork will eventually help you to think from their perspective that what is the major problem in your artwork and try to improve it gradually.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Apart from teaching and drawing, I really enjoy swimming and skating. I also have been a national-level speed skater.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Yeah I have an interesting anecdote that happened 2 years back. So back then I was really bad at drawing human anatomy, I used to struggle a lot with it. then someday I was watching a Ted Talk where the TedX speaker was talking about how to excel anything easily to which you are bad at. According to him, it takes 20hr to learn any new thing, and to become a pro in that you need 10,00hr which would take 4-5 years to learn. I thought of trying out 20hr theory and it really worked. Not only you get to learn a new thing but also you develop a habit and interest in that thing.
I often see a lot of students get disheartened very quickly just because they couldn't make it but I say you just have started off, you need time to learn it, go slow but steady. For those who are reading it, I would suggest if you are afraid of trying out new things try this out, you have nothing to lose and also never try to get disappointed by your work which you have just started, try it for at least 20 hr, I guaranty you it will work.
