About Anna
The joy of creativity has been part of my life for over 3 decades. I am skilled in both visual- painting, illustrating, sculpture, design, and performing arts- singing, songwriting, and dance I am kind and also dedicated to helping each student grow in their field of interest. My life has involved sharing the arts since I was a child up to the present day. Look forward to joining you on your journey of discovering your own unique vision and voice!

Entering into the world of a student who is on the journey of learning and creating is a great privilege and responsibility. I have volunteered teaching in the field of art throughout my life- with young children up to advanced age individuals living in assisted living communities. When stepping into both the imaginative and technical/ skill-based world of visual arts, there is a fine line of balance that should be observed. My teaching philosophy centers on honoring the unique and necessary vision that each student has and cultivating that creative side. A creative energy that hopefully is the remnant of the spontaneous and free child within that does not feel restriction, whether from color theory, composition, or concern for what fits in with popular culture. While at the same time my teaching philosophy blends the skill and mastery of the principles of art and design, and the knowledge/ skill of different art mediums.
Cultivating and maintaining an atmosphere of curiosity and studiousness is important to me. This can help facilitate space for each student to explore and focus. I strive to be approachable and interested in the concerns and pursuits that each student brings to the class. Overall, my teaching philosophy centers on the growth of the student using the framework that everyone is unique and learns in a slightly different way and pace. Celebrating the creative journey that each student is on and encouraging them to be true to their inner vision and dream is important to me. Likewise important is introducing and cultivating in each student an understanding and appreciation for the diverse mediums that make up the visual art field, and the elements and principles of art and design that allow an artist even more freedom and mastery in their craft.
