About Keey
Keey Fremm is a renowned jazz piano player, and a composer. He began his career in music since early teenage hood starting with electric guitar. In the short amount of time, he has traveled to the UK as a New Zealand representative, toured all over NZ and some parts of Australia. Keey has played in several bands, with artists from local clubs to stadium stages and bigger artists. He is a National Award-Winning Music Composer & Arranger, Musician, Model, Performer, Thespian, NZ Representative: Internationally, Member of the PAYPA Organisation, APRA AMCOS Composer, Member of SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2024, Bandleader, Mentor, Artist and Freelancer. One of Keey's songs, Goodnight Aotearoa, (that features taongo puoro and the usage of Te Reo Maori), has won several composition competitions, such as at the Jazz Nationals (TGA:2023), Young Jazz Band-It (WGT:2023), and was later released the year after. His compositions got commissioned by artists like Rodger Fox. Recently, Keey has written a tribute piece in Rodger's memory, who has passed away in 2024, called "Fox's Legacy", that got played by the Rodger Fox Big Band. Keey believes that everyone is capable of great things, it only takes to start, keep going, and to never give up on what you want the most.

Hi, I'm Keey! I'm a New Zealand award-winning composer, and a jazz pianist with international experience. I'd love to be your mentor on your piano/keys/synths journey. Whether you're a beginner or looking to expand your skills, I'd love to help you out. I also specialize in Jazz piano and Compositions and I perform regularly :) The lessons would be ideal for ages 7+ The duration of lessons can be adapted to your schedule and your preferences. I can run lessons for 20min, 30min & 60min. Here are some elements that we would work through: Chord Progression: Learn essential chords for smooth transitions between songs (whatever the genre you might like, whether it is jazz, blues, rock, pop, reggae etc) Improvisation: Unlock the ability to add your personal creativity, flavor, and sometimes even spirit-led moments in your playing. Dynamic Playing: Master how to adjust your volume, tempo, and style to match the right atmosphere. Flow: Develop the skill to seamlessly transition between songs and create a unified experience. Accompaniment Skills: Learn how to support vocalists and lead with musical sensitivity. Ear Training: Improve your ability to play by ear, recognize intervals and other musical patterns quickly. Music Theory: Gain a solid foundation and understanding of scales, keys, and harmony to deepen your musical foundation. Additional Skills we can cover: History of Music (Musicology), Composition Skill / Compositional Devices (How to Start Composing or How to Compose/ Arrange Better) & more
