About Nia
I’m a singing tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. I’m passionate about helping students build vocal confidence and express themselves through music. Whether you're a shy beginner or an aspiring artist, I create a safe and encouraging space to explore your voice. I specialize in styles like Pop, Indie, R&B, and Contemporary Worship, tailoring each lesson to your goals and musical taste. I work closely with students to overcome performance anxiety and connect emotionally with the songs they sing. Breath control, expressive phrasing, and vocal health are at the heart of my teaching. I also offer live performance coaching, helping students prepare for auditions, recordings, and on-stage moments with confidence. Many of my students are teens just beginning their musical journey or emerging artists finding their sound. I guide them step-by-step, focusing on both technique and personal expression. My singing methodology for both Church Ensemble Players and Crossover Artists focuses on mastering versatility across genres like classical, pop, gospel, and jazz. I guide singers to understand the unique demands of each style—whether it’s the purity of classical tone, the expressive flair of jazz, or the emotional power of gospel and pop.
We work on vocal techniques that adapt to each genre, including breath support, vibrato control, and dynamic shaping. Pitch accuracy and control are central, and I incorporate ear training and pitch correction exercises tailored to each singer’s level. Musicality is developed through phrasing, emotional expression, and genre-specific articulation.
Modern tools are a key part of the journey. We use digital audio workstations (DAWs) for recording and playback, pitch training apps for precision, and metronomes to build rhythm and timing. I encourage students to review their recordings to self-reflect and track progress.
Every session blends structured vocal training with creative expression, ensuring both technical growth and artistic development. Whether leading a worship set or crossing genres for a performance, singers learn to adapt confidently. My goal is to help you sing with purpose, power, and passion—no matter the stage or style.
