Hello, my name is Ricardo and I'm a Portuguese professional opera singer and singing teacher based in London. I trained at the University of Aveiro (2010; BMus & MEdu Vocal Performance and Tuition w/ Distinction) and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (2011; MMus in Performance w/ Merit).
My field of expertise is in providing the singer with a solid and dependable technique which they can apply to many styles. I offer advanced technique to the singer entering the profession, with a strong focus on balancing vocal technique with musical interpretation. I also welcome those singers who love to sing and are seeking that next step to challenge them.
My teaching method includes repetition, solfegio (basic Kodaly) and ensuring that each pupil enjoys the lesson and interacts with the music, especially if they are a child or teenager who is still learning the basics of music and performing. I currently work for a music school where I carry out administrative tasks and help in choir rehearsals, and help run a youth choir in London.
My approach can cater to all ages and abilities, as I aim to train the voice through both repertoire and exercises, finding the right balance for the individual pupil.
My teaching method is 1-1, I will work on vocal techniques, repertoire, style and sight reading. I like to be encouraging and fun and will offer guidance on any steps outside of our lessons as well. I will listen to what you want to learn and improve on.
My teaching method is relaxed and fun. I believe everyone can sing, and learn to sing with music they enjoy. Weather you are a total novice, or have an audition or performance you want to work towards, my lessons will help you achieve your ‘singing goal’ in an engaging way.
In my teaching, I am deeply committed to looking at the student as a whole, imparting a solid vocal technique and musical understanding, instilling confidence, creativity and a positive can-do attitude, since I know from my own experience what an important role the mind and imagination play in singing and making music.
As a professional singer, I have built up experience and knowledge which I use to deliver fun, educational and progressive sessions with students of all ages and abilities. - Which subject(s) do you teach? With a performance and academic background, I offer tuition in singing (classical, musical theatre, and pop), music theory, oboe, and curriculum music content.
I focus my singing teaching heavily on vocal technique. I believe having good technique and vocal support ensures a more rounded sound and a healthier voice. I tailor my teaching in accordance with age, however only through how I describe the techniques. The core principles and the mechanics of how to use the voice is what I teach to all students.
I like to teach people to work towards music that they want to be able to play but making sure that you pass all the fundamental steps along the way.
I am currently studying Music at the University of Bristol and would love to tutor singing over the summer period. I am currently tutoring two children age 6 and 8 in singing. I shape my lessons around each individual and their needs. I can work towards grades or just for fun. I like to use imagery to help understand how to improve technique for a healthy comfortable singing experience.
A singing lesson differs from person to person, depending on what they need but generally speaking I start with breathing exercises followed by vocal exercises to build up or strengthen/develop the voice and from there on we move to a piece you would like to work on. This can be helping you improve it or actually learn it from scratch.
As a singing teacher, I would prefer an adult or late teenager as my student. I will teach all the basic technique to sing with repertoire taken from the standard ABRSM curriculum and mixed with Bel Canto methods such as Vaccai or Concone.
I operate an student centred teaching style, in a clean, friendly environment that focuses on the needs and requirements of each student. Lessons are designed for all ages, levels and abilities, covering genres, such as Opera, Classical and Musical Theatre etc.
My knowledge in music is firmly grounded in classical music, especially choral music, having been a chorister for 5 years and currently singing with the Rodolfus Choir in London. I am currently taking a degree in Music and hoping to teach music in the future.
I have been a professional vocalist in bands and have taught singing for over 15 years, to young people and adults to find their voice. No sight-reading or experience is needed, as through a range of breathing exercises and fun singing techniques, confidence is built, while expanding breathing capacity and singing range.
I am an A level music student who is currently applying to drama school, I received my Diploma from the London College of Music in Musical theatre in 2015. I usually start lessons with a brief warm-up, then sight-sing pieces, then talk and sing them through. I am also able to play basic piano.
I like to set a certain song to teach my students. This way I can teach the techniques first and then teach how to implement them in the song of their choice. For example if I was teaching a jazz song I was so the techniques needed within the genre and then help them implement the technique. This way the student can see their own progress after each session.
My teaching method is a more practical approach, I believe that the more active you are, the better the learning outcome. Regarding teaching voice and flute, I would suggest potential repertoire that I believe suits that particular student the most appropriately. Regarding singing lessons- by teaching vocal techniques and covering the Alexander technique this will help reduce any risk of damage.
My aim is to help students sing and play with confidence and with a strong technique in a calm yet fun environment. I help students to understand music while we enjoy the lesson. Examples of concepts taught during singing lessons: breathing technique, voice qualities, pitch control, stage presence, offsets and onsets control, dynamics, etc.
My teaching method is simple.... I start wit the anatomy of the voice, how it all works. Then move on to warming up and technique. I also focus on breathing and pushing a persons range. I will focus on pitch and tone. I will also help and person with any song they want to sing and will show them alternatives to make the song easier for the person.
I work with singers of all abilities, teaching healthy vocal techniques to develop students’ range, tone, breathing, performance and singing confidence.
I approach my teaching to meet the specific needs and developments of the student. I do not see a reason following a standard plan when everyone develops at different times.
Will be teaching basic music theory singing to young starting musicians for the summer. One to one lessons either online or at home. I am a tuba, saxaphone and singer with keyboard skills so may be able to offer teaching for any of these instruments.

Whether you are an enthusiastic beginner or an experienced singer or violinist, I can provide extensive advice and experience whilst having plenty of fun! - Which subject(s) do you teach? Classical singing, violin, theory and ukulele.
I have taught at prep schools in London for the past 10 years and also worked with older children and adults from my home. I believe that it is incredibly important for music to be an enjoyable activity so like my lessons to be fun and stimulating as well as educational. I always endeavour to find repertoire which suits each individual and tailor my lessons according to each student's needs.
my teaching method contains some notes for swaras.people have to follow and can sing according to notes.by seeing they can practice at home and do singing for songs also.i will give separate notes for every song in all types which they follow by seeing notes.
I believe in teaching classically, so that students learn how to make the most efficient and lovely sound with perfect breath control, vowel shapes, resonance, and how to perform using proper expression and emotion.
