About Amanda
I am a fur baby mom of 2 cats and 2 dogs. I firmly believe that all students are capable of learning with the right supports - academic and social-emotional. My favorite author/poet of all time is Maya Angelou, who said "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." This quote inspires me to help students learn the skills needed to become their very own butterfly.

Learning should be fun, not boring. Hands-on activities and critical thinking skills are a focus for me. I believe every student is capable of learning with the right supports. I have taught K-7, but am particularly fond of working with early elementary students to help them develop a strong foundation of reading skills. I have worked in a variety of settings, giving me a unique ability to cater learning to each student. My strongest teaching skill is building relationships with students to empower them on their learning journey.
