About Joel
My teaching methodology focuses on creating a balanced and supportive learning environment that nurtures students’ growth and love for music. I emphasise Accountability, encouraging students to set achievable goals and stay motivated, whether it's mastering a song or improving their technique. I believe consistent practice and responsibility help build discipline and confidence. Creativity is at the heart of my lessons. I encourage students to explore various genres, improvisation, and composition, allowing them to express their unique voice through the piano. I also integrate music theory to deepen their understanding and broaden their musical abilities, making them versatile musicians. Communication is key in my approach. I maintain an open and positive dialogue with each student to understand their learning style and musical interests. This helps me tailor lessons to their needs, making learning more engaging and effective. Beyond piano, I also offer support in relevant subjects such as music theory, composition, and performance skills. My goal is to help students not only become skilled pianists but also well-rounded musicians.

With 5 years of experience teaching piano, I have had the privilege of guiding students from school to college in their musical journey. My passion for education and music drives me to help students not only learn the technical aspects of playing but also to express their creativity and emotion through the piano. Whether it’s preparing for exams, mastering a piece, or exploring new genres, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for each student. Throughout my career, I have helped students achieve notable milestones, from passing music exams with distinction to performing at school events and local concerts. My teaching method is centred on individualised lessons, making sure each student progresses at their own pace while building confidence and skill. I believe in making learning enjoyable and accessible, inspiring students to develop a lifelong love for music. I’m committed to helping my students reach their fullest potential, whatever their musical goals may be.
