About Lucy
I have over 9 years of tutoring experience and hold a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. My passion lies in helping high school students succeed in IB and A-Level mathematics. I focus on building conceptual clarity so students understand not just the formulas but the reasoning behind them. My lessons cover Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics with depth and precision. I use diverse problem-solving strategies to show students multiple ways to approach a question. Past paper practice forms an essential part of my teaching, giving students confidence in tackling exam-style problems. I encourage active learning, asking questions, and exploring alternative solutions. Many of my students say this approach makes math more logical and less intimidating. I believe in strengthening foundations before tackling advanced challenges. By combining theory with application, I make mathematics both practical and rewarding. My sessions are tailored to each student’s needs and pace. With guidance and persistence, even the most challenging topics become manageable. Together, we will overcome difficulties and achieve your academic goals.

My teaching approach in mathematics is structured and clear, with each lesson building on the last. I focus on strengthening algebraic foundations because they support everything from calculus to geometry. Students learn differentiation and integration step by step, linking them to real problems. Geometry proofs are also taught with logic and clarity, showing how each line of reasoning fits together. Probability and statistics are made practical through real-world applications that connect theory to data. I adapt lessons to meet the pace and needs of each learner. As a Future Actuary and Problem Solver, I show multiple methods to approach questions and build resilience. Past papers and targeted practice form a key part of my teaching. Every lesson aligns with a progression path, so students always know where they are heading. My aim is to deepen understanding, not just teach formulas. I encourage students to ask questions and test their reasoning. With structure and support, challenges become manageable. Together, we work toward excelling in both concepts and exams.
