What are vulgar fractions?

Answers
"Vulgar" fractions are what you probably think of as "normal" fractions (e.g., 1/3 or 3/4 or 3/25654, etc). I'm not sure why they are "vulgar", a colleage of mine once joked that it's because their bottom is bigger than their top. (Whether this is true or not I don't know, but it might help you remember). Possibly it's just to distinguish them from top-heavy fractions and mixed numbers. Feel free to contact me if you'd like more help with fractions.
