Are nerve impulses and electrical pulses the same thing?

Answers
Nerve impulses are generated ELECTROCHEMICALLY. A nerve impulse flows along a neurone as a wave of electrical activity along its membrane. This electrical energy is caused by chemical ions moving across the membrane of the neurone. In physics, an electrical pulse is electromagnetic rather than electrochemical. The eye perceives light energy as electromagnetic energy but must change this into electrochemical energy for the information to travel along nerves to the brain.
