  I was reading this bit off the internet about coast because we have a test tomorrow and i need to revise. I found this bit of text I don't know what it means. 'following the line of steepest gradient'. It's to do with Lond shore drift. I think it means its steep or something. please help!

steepest gradient pretty much means the steepest part

for example if a cliff was perfectly vertical, as in there was a straight line from the top of the cliff to the sea, that would be the steepest gradient possible
