About Lucian
I hold a Master’s degree in Music Performance and have spent the past 7 years teaching piano to a wide range of students, from early learners to adult enthusiasts. My approach is both structured and adaptable, helping each student find confidence through consistent progress and creative exploration. Beyond teaching, I have experience in solo performance, collaborative accompaniment, and composition, all of which influence my teaching style. I enjoy bringing variety into lessons, blending classical pieces with modern or personalised material to keep things engaging while developing well-rounded musicianship. My teaching philosophy is rooted in patience, encouragement, and building trust. I aim to make every student feel supported, whether they’re learning their first piece or preparing for a recital. Every piano lesson is designed to match the student’s age, level, and interests. Beginners start with finger placement, rhythm basics, and note recognition using engaging pieces. For returning or intermediate players, we revisit foundational skills while integrating expressive playing and building musical confidence step-by-step. As the journey continues, students learn scales, chord progressions, and reading both hands fluently. Lessons introduce ear training, music theory, and improvisation to strengthen musical understanding. Exercises are selected to build technique while also keeping the learning process enjoyable and motivating. More advanced sessions can include classical repertoire, jazz styles, or personal projects like songwriting and performance prep. We’ll focus on interpretation, dynamics, and phrasing to bring music to life. Whether you're aiming for exams, performances, or simply lifelong enjoyment, lessons are shaped around your goals.
