My teaching technique will involve many example and opportunities to ask questions. I would approach a topic by first assessing the students current knowledge of the topic and then going over the key concepts. After this we will look at a couple of examples and then start doing exercises that the student can complete first with my assistance and then on their own, to build their confidence. Throughout my lessons I encourage students to ask any questions as they arise, to quickly and effectively tackle problems.
I am currently a student at the University of Edinburgh, studying mechanical engineering with renewable energy and am about to start my final year.
I started tutoring while at school helping children in the lower years levels. Since coming to university I have tutored a number of students in NAT 5 (equivalent to GCSE) maths and have helped them achieve their desired grades.
I have also worked extensively with children, working at children's summer camps in both the UK and the US, as a lifeguard and a general counselor. I was in charge of children between the ages of 4 and 16, meaning that I am able to effectively engage with children of a wide range of ages.
