Make justified recommendations for improving the validity of marketing research

BTEC Nationals from 2010 - Level 3 - A Level.

I am stuck on this particular task, i have no clue! HELP PLEASE! The business in which i am studying is my school, so information relevant to that would be brilliant, thank you.

"Make justified recommendations for improving the validity of the marketing research used to contribute to the development of a selected organisation’s marketing plans."

Firstly, I would look at the marketing plan, see what type of research they are using - where has it been gathered from? How large are the sources? How is the data turned into information? What kind of information should they be looking for, and are they getting it? That may give yo some starting points.

Marketing research can often present a misleading ( and invalid) picture if the sample size is too small - there needs to be a level of statistical significance to be meaningful.
