As soon as your theory test booking is finalised, you will receive the following details from DVSA (usually via email):
Remember to mark them down and arrive at the designated test centre at least 30 minutes early. And, bring your provisional driving licence so that you can pass the identity and security checks.
Important note: Any electronic devices, from mobile phones, smart watches, and fitness trackers, must be turned off before you enter the test centre.
✏️During the Test
You'll be given 57 minutes to complete the 50 multiple-choice questions. You can flag the questions to revisit later before the final submission, so you can choose to answer the questions you're most confident in first.
Useful tip: Take your time to read the questions carefully while staying calm and focused.
After a 3-minute break, you will watch 14 video clips to identify the road hazards. Unlike the first section, you cannot review your answer and need to click immediately when you spot a developing hazard.

✏️After the Test
Your theory test results will be out immediately upon completion. Those who have passed the test will receive a theory test pass certificate number, which you need to use to book your practical test later.
The theory pass certificate number is valid for 2 years, which means you'll have to pass your practical driving test within this period. If not, you'll have to retake the theory test. 4
If you failed the test, the test centre will issue you a letter to let you know which part you did not score enough points in. You can book and sit for the test again after 3 working days.

For example, a green traffic light generally means “go,” so if a question asks when you should wait or stop, the correct answer is unlikely to involve a green light signal.
