I have prepared materials such as teaching slides and tutorial questions to teach my students with no prior programming knowledge to ensure they can understand every concept. For my lessons, I will start by explaining the slides that I have prepared for the topic and I will also demonstrate the coding process. After all explanations, I will let the student try out some tutorial questions I have prepared to let them familiarize themselves with the concept learned. I will guide them if they have any problems when practicing and will also clarify any questions they have even after class.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I first used a computer when I was very young, around 4 or 5. My dad would always expose me to many different things, and computer was one of them. He would teach me everything he knows about it. When I got older, he would buy some interesting and educational computer games for me to play. I would say I am very familiar with using a computer since young, thanks to my dad.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I would say the evolution of financial technology is something that would impact the whole world. With cashless transactions and cryptocurrencies gaining traction, more and more people would be forced to adjust to this new norm.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I have quite a wide range of expertise, from web development, machine learning to database engineering. But my main interest at the moment is in the field of artificial intelligence and computer vision. I believe the combination of this 2 advancement would greatly benefit many industries by providing automation.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

My role model is my father since young. He has always been the figure that I look up to, and I strive to be like him. My father is a hardworking man. He would always encourage us to step out of our comfort zone to achieve greater heights. He has always been supportive of all my endeavours and allows me to just go for what my heart desires.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I only had the opportunity to have on campus studies for 1 year before covid hit. But I have met so many amazing friends and teachers within the year. Although my year 2 and 3 has been online, I am fortunate that my tutors are very helpful in ensuring that I can cope with my studies. This helps me stay interested with my subjects and strive to do well.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would say IT isn't complicated, as long as you take your time to read. I always tell my mother, who is not so fluent in IT, to read and see what the instructions or error messages are trying to tell you. I believe most programmers would have designed the system in a user friendly way where they would guide you on how to use it. So just calm down, and read the message and you will get the hang of it.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

My passion is to educate. This passion mainly stemmed from my fortunate experiences of having amazing teachers throughout my whole life. Throughout my schooling years, I have always had very helpful teachers who would answer to all my queries even after classes. I am aware that not everyone are fortunate enough to meet such dedicated teachers, hence, I would love to be one to guide students who are lost and help them be interested in the subject that they are learning.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I have always been involved in tutoring. I am a technical supervisor in an organisation called Robogals, where I would curate teaching materials to teach young students programming languages such as Python and JavaScript to get them to be more interested in the STEM field. With this passion, I stumbled across the Superprof website one day and decided to sign up as a tutor on Supervisor. Ever since, I have met so many amazing students on Superprof who are eager to learn. This fuels my interest to continue teaching as I hope to help more students.
