I offer private tuition in programming and algorithms (C++, C, Java, Python, Haskell, Ocaml...) for GCSEs, A-levels / IB, degree level and adult learners, face-to-face in the Portsmouth area or online, via Google Hangouts or Skype, with webcam, whiteboard and screensharing.
I am passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their academic goals. My journey into tutoring started when I started scheduling for other students; I have conducted personal training for colleagues and juniors alike I love passing my experience and knowledge in management, programming, networking etc. to other students and everyone interested in learning something new.
Students with me will to completely understand a topic from its roots, this style of learning has been successful for me and should be for any student I help. Learning a concept from its roots and then preparing for the exams will become effortless.
I’m specifically certified in “teaching coding to children” and aim to transform children from passive computer and tablet users into technological producers. I specialize in teaching coding aligned with the National Curriculum’s Key Stages 1 through 3. My pre-reception and reception level courses cater to 4 to 6 age group.
My methodology is to understand the person and provide the knowledge. I adapt to particular student in every moment of the learning process. Many times I explain subjects which are not the core of what we study, but are relevant or crucial for better understanding of main subject.
Rather than rote memorisation, I prefer to give students the skill set necessary to diagnose and solve their own problems. As such, lessons will be very "hands on", and while the main focus will be learning to code, we will necessarily touch on a variety of different topics (version control, development processes, IDEs etc.) that any competent Software Engineer would be expected to know.
I provide learners with both breadth and depth of understanding in each topic, before challenging them with extensive independent practice in tackling questions and coaching them through developing better responses. As learners gain confidence I build in the more challenging aspects and nuances of computer science.
My teaching method is going through examples to get familiar with concepts & demonstrate problem solving similar to real work environments to help understand the conceptual knowledge been applied. Of course, the student can use his own infrastructure to practise my guided learning and do homework to get more familiar.
My teaching method is very simple and it always depends on the skill level of my students. I'd say it's a rather adaptive technique based on the student and the material that he/she wishes to learn.
I am passionate about teaching and assisting a motivated student in achieving their goals. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the Bangalore University with a First. I also have a masters` degree in Software Engineering from the University of Southampton as well as a 2-year Diploma in Law.
I am an outgoing teacher with a Student-Centered Approach to Learning I emphasize the class topic that we will cover and give a broad outline Encourage contact between students and faculty Develop reciprocity and cooperation among students Encourage active learning Give prompt feedback Emphasize time on task Communicate high expectations Respect diverse talents and ways of learning
Consider me ONLY IF YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROBLEM SOLVING & CODING ! :) Hands on Practical coding techniques I concentrate on understanding of the student. Less theory & more practice with different problem solving exercises. Real world business cases. I learnt coding by hands on. If you are not interested in hands on - kindly do not consider me.
My preference is one-to-one teaching. That way I can tailor the lesson to your individual needs. Whether your a complete beginner wanting to learn more about programming/IT, a student who needs help with an assignment or project, an aspiring developer who wants advice about entering the industry, or a budding entrepreneur with a business idea, I can help.
I offer an informal and friendly approach to my lessons and can teach from the very basics right up to business level. I will tailor the lessons to suit the student by first understanding the background of the student and what their aims and goals are. Every lesson is focused on their needs.
I am a university student and I primarily gear my content towards high school students and above, however I can modify it for younger students. I typically prepare PowerPoints to teach with while speaking to you about it, and I have assignments and assessments for you afterwards to solidify the knowledge. I go at the pace of the student and make sure they understand the content before moving on.
I am 49 years of age and a recent graduate from Bournemouth University with a degree in Computing. I have seven years teaching experience for the age range 8 -16. I created an age group teaching strategy to improve my students' academic performance. As a result, most students got better results in school exams.
I aim to provide a structured, easy to follow curriculum. We'll start at your level and build our lesson plans at a steady pace. Practical examples will always be given where possible. I believe it's important to reinforce the fundamentals of the topic before delving into more complex methods.
I can communicate clearly and understand the needs of my students effectively. This not only helps my students understand and articulate the subject better. It also helps them retain, reproduce and put the lessons to practical use. I can teach methodologies in detail or tailor lessons based on my student's needs.
I am an experienced software engineer, and I teach programming to students at various levels of expertise. I have taught undergraduate computer science students as well as junior school students. I make no assumptions about students prior knowledge and am careful to keep my instructions simple. Programming like other forms of engineering requires both academic knowledge as well as skill.
I am an enthusiastic student whom is learning as well as teaching, and lessons can either be practical or theoretical. I do not have a set syllabus of topics, so topics will be created according to prior interest. I have a preference to teach individual students or small groups.
the free encyclopedia. Jump to: navigation, search. A teaching method comprises the principles and methods used by teachers to enable student learning.
I would like to teach high school and undergraduate students who are getting into the technical world. I like to teach by explaining the topic in the simplest possible way and asking individuals to do hands-on tasks on the go.
I do my best to simplify programming concept by learning visually and building projects step by step until a full competition which allows students to learn faster and learn by doing. I also explain why we use a certain concept in the project and how it contributes to the final picture of the project.
I can teach adults using a computer and textbooks. No lesson structure - we can agree on a topic to tackle e.g. modelling the weather or managing household expenses and then write a program to do this. I do not write apps but can build websites with Php. Can also modify photos and do artwork both on and off the computer.
I believe the best introduction to programming and robotics is through practical applications. So that might be programming a computer game or building a robotic arm. The project should present enough challenges that encourages students to problem solve which cements the concepts to memory once it has been worked through.
I am friendly and enthusiastic with a lot of energy, and I think this comes out a lot during my classes. I understand how difficult it can be when first starting out to code. I can help you get to grips with some of the fundamental and the more difficult concepts of programming until you have the confidence to go it alone.
Firstly I will see where you are at. I will give you a small task (1 min). If I can see that you are doing well, I will continue with giving you harder tasks, until we reach your level of understanding of the subject. From there on, I will try and explain as much as I can about the subject by using practical examples of everyday uses of your subject.
My teaching method would be a more hands on visual style, I believe the best way to learn is to do, So I would like to use the concepts I teach as we go so the student would get a clear understanding of how to use it and understand where to use it.
Depending on what you want to learn I can teach you computer science from the baseline of the electronics of microprocessors, through assembly level code, to the C programming language and beyond. I will take you through examples of procedural code, object orientation, functional programming, HTML and CSS design, and I can make sure you understand the topics.
Programming is based on practice to understand the concepts and be able to develop applications, so I teach the programming as tutorial mixing between syntax and exercises. as a textbook references I use mainly Deitel books. The student will be able to develop software applications from scratch.
