About Nicholas
I am an experienced university teacher with a thorough knowledge of how to achieve success at university. I have taught two courses at Washington University in St. Louis as sole instructor and worked as assistant instructor for 14 other courses in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia. I have also mentored students through university mentoring programs for six years, twice winning the Excellence in Mentoring Award. I have five degrees from three countries, three awarded with the highest honor, and am very aware of the challenges students face and how to overcome them. My teaching style is patient, positive, and encouraging. A course I taught at Washington University was evaluated by the university and received a perfect score. The evaluator wrote, “His positivity and warm encouragement made it easy for students to participate throughout the course. Nicky’s high level of organization and expertise with regard to course content were also truly remarkable in his course. Students absolutely made significant progress, not only due to their own efforts, but because of Nicky’s consistent dedication. Nicky designed and executed this course with student success in mind.”

I offer private, one-on-one tutoring for university students of all levels, from undergraduates to PhD students. I specialize in subjects in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Aspects of study I can help with include: - Essay writing, including coming up with ideas, planning an essay, essay structure, writing style, and making a strong argument - Understanding assignments - Research methods - Mastering referencing styles - Formatting for essays, theses, dissertations, and articles, from basic APA style to highly attractive and professional-looking formats - Exam preparation - Managing relationships with teachers and supervisors Sessions are online using Zoom and Google Docs.
