About Sophie
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BSc in Physics. I specialize in introducing high school and university students to the fascinating world of particle physics and the Standard Model. My teaching approach is relaxed, interactive, and completely application-focused. I believe physics is best learned when it connects to the real world. I cover core topics like mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, astrophysics, and nuclear physics. Beyond these, I also guide students in engineering-related subjects such as materials science, fluid dynamics, statics, and dynamics in structures.
I use real-world engineering problems to make abstract concepts clear and meaningful. Each session focuses on understanding the principles first, then applying them to practical designs and calculations. I encourage critical thinking and problem-solving rather than rote memorization. Computational tools and simulations are often included to show how physics drives modern engineering solutions.
Assignments, exam preparation, and project guidance are tailored to each student’s needs. I provide continuous support to help them excel and gain confidence in both theory and application. My goal is to make physics not just a subject, but a skill they can use in their engineering career. Lessons are structured, yet flexible, ensuring learning is effective and enjoyable.
