Most of my students are at university or pre-university level working towards their major in mathematics or physics. We work together to find out the topics the student is having problems with and then I explain in detail the theory. We also work out a couple of exercises to showcase the main tricks to master the theory.
I do not have a specific teaching method, together we can try and work something out tailored for your needs.
My teaching method is very interactive. I like to give power point slides to my students so they know the fundamentals but then I consolidate the learning with questions / past exam questions.
Hello! My name is Travis Brooks, and I am a qualified trainer with a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science, as well as currently finishing a fast track post-graduate Medical degree at Imperial College London.
I would mainly choose to answer questions or help with particular issues you are struggling to understand, or need help with cracking. I don't have lesson plans as such, but could provide examples and should be able to backtrack and build up to the specific subject, to encourage your foundation knowledge.
I adapt my teaching to the individual and create a natural and supporting environment. I will try every approach (audio, visual, kinesthetic) until I find a method that suits the student. I am well practiced in simplifying complex material and then building from the foundations upwards. I win when you win.
My methodology is by breaking it down into simple sections which slowly build up and add together. The individual's learning technique is taken into account be it visual, audio, kinesthetic etc and is unique to each person. I will teach anyone who wants to learn either maths or physics and basic grammar for english.
I am a young curious Electrical Engineering Student in my Penultimate year. Having Studied Physics for 5years- 3 years in Secondary School(GCSE Equivalent) and 2years IBO diploma, I am very enthusiastic about sharing the knowledge i have gained from previous experience. I have also participated in Genius Olympiad in the United States and British Physics olympiad in the UK.
I am able to teach National 5 students in both mathematics and physics, and I have qualifications in both subjects up to Higher level. I will try to identify areas of strength and difficulty with prospective students in order to help them progress most easily and effectively.
I use a range of methods, including textbooks, instructional videos, written examples, and past papers. However, I can appreciate that different methods will work for different people, so I like to get the input of the student to see what method/s they prefer. I base my classes on the curriculum that the student is following, but I will always start with the very basics if needed.
I try to use the "desire method". I listen the student and understand how he/she likes to learn and what he/she wants to learn. Then I usually prepare a power point presentation to explain the different principle required to understand the classes. I like to work in parallel on a paper to make sure the student follow up and understand all the way.
The teaching method I will apply is fairly theory-heavy (particularly in physics rather than maths) which I believe is the most crucial of a subject. A-Level and GCSE are notorious for saying 'this is how it's done', but not 'this is why it's done like this'. The understanding of the subject is the absolute foundation of achieving ambition, in which too many students sadly miss.
This is my first time teaching officially but feel its something that comes naturally to me, I aim to give tutoring lessons tailored around your needs. I will set homework related to specific topics or areas that you wish to improve upon and will have it marked ready for our next lesson so we can recap any possible errors with the goal of meeting on a weekly basis.
I can take the student through step by step examples of the most topics offering example problems. My main aim as a tutor is to make the student think like a physicist. Willing to tutor for A-level students or bellow.
In teaching any subject, I believe in the one-to-one approach. This allows the current weaknesses of the student to be immediately addressed and rectified. When teaching new students, I prefer to quiz them on the subject, straightaway giving me an idea of the abilities of the student and what topic areas I should focus on teaching them.
I am doing a degree in Physics, but I prefer teaching maths. I base my teaching method on going through some examples together, then they would work through problems on their own. This gives them a chance to get used to doing questions on their own, just like in an exam.
Got great grades in both Business and Physics at Level. I'd teach 1:1 ideally. I structure based on how the student feels they would learn best. Passionate about both subjects and I enjoy telling students how to do the subject. My best time of tuition is randomly weekdays and Sundays. My times during week can vary due to varying timetables of University.
My name is Lydia and I have graduated from doing both an International Baccalaureate and A levels. I teach anyone from the beginning of secondary school up to A level in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. If requested I can also teach French, Spanish and GCSE latin.
Teaching for me is not just trying your to memorise facts and then just lay them out on the exam, but rather engage each student, enhance their understanding and imagination. This way student enjoys the learning process and develops crucial skills for their future.
My lessons are based more on teaching students how to solve problems rather than rote memorisation, as once you know how to find the solution to something you don't understand you can begin to solve anything. Beginning at A-level and below I hope to teach students not just how to pass their exams but how to apply what they know to any problem.
I understand that subjects, especially Mathematics and the sciences, may not be taught in an accessible way. Many concepts can be confusing and are not necessarily explained in ways that encourage true understanding.
I understand that every student is different and therefore the approach I take to teaching can also change dependent on that. I like to ensure that every student has a strong foundation in a topic before further details are added, which I believe allows the student to apply their knowledge to a variety of questions and problems.
I base my class on the syllabus the student is already learning. Each school will use a different exam board and each exam board will use a different order in how the lessons are undertaken. I will follow that specific order. Rather then pick up where the teacher left of I would rather fully track that specific subject from the beginning then the student can gain a further understanding.
My teaching method is learner-centred. I did not go to school and have a genuine of learning for its own sake - I try to encourage that love of learning in all my students. I can tailor lessons to any learning objective - from entry level to degree - and I offer a free initial consultation to discuss how to structure a learning pathway.
I believe the main difficulties with learning Science and Maths is the stigma that these subjects are far more complicated than they are. My teaching style to resolve this is to approach these subjects in a simplistic problem based structure.
My teaching method involves as much direct practise at exam questions as possible, the more exposure you have had to past paper questions the higher the chance of success. My focus is to teach you through step by step methods, that work as set solutions, this removes the thinking process, saves time and makes maths intuitive.
I base my methods on patient and methodical approaches in order to truly understand a problem. It is important to tackle a problem one step at a time. Ultimately though, how you wish to learn and what works best is different for everyone. I will take a hands on approach using all available resources to teach giving a wider knowledge of the subject.
My teaching method revolves around making the subject as real and relatable as possible for the student, trying to enforce the base ideas with examples of the effects they have and how they can be applied in the real world.
I am a graduate of Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester, with excellent grades at both GCSE and A Level. I can offer lessons to A Level Maths and Physics Students who either wish to improve their performance, or understand a concept. I have worked as an outdoor instructor, as well as academic tutoring, giving me different ways to approach and explain topics.
Hi, my name is David and I am an undergraduate Physics student at the University of Bath. I am on track I believe that the biggest struggle for many students is fully understanding concepts in maths and physics. I think that my calm and friendly manner can create an atmosphere to help children excel.
