About Zi Chao
I am a Cambridge graduate with a Master’s in Neuroscience and currently a PhD candidate at Waseda University researching brain development. I have taught biology since my university days and enjoy helping students build confidence and curiosity in science. Having lived and studied in the UK, US, and Japan, I bring an international perspective and can teach in English, Chinese, or Japanese. Outside research and teaching, I enjoy badminton, gym, cooking, and woodworking. Teaching is my way of sharing the excitement of biology and inspiring students to explore beyond exams.

I help students build confidence and independence in learning. Using mindmaps for each chapter, they learn how to organise and study effectively — a skill that prepares them well for university. My lessons are interactive: I ask questions, guide essay writing, and encourage deeper thinking, not just memorisation. Lesson time is flexible (usually 1–2 hours), and I adapt to the student’s needs, whether it’s going through exam papers, tackling tricky topics, or preparing for assessments.
