land use models

what is a land use model and what is it used for?

Land use models analyse the way in which areas (most commonly urban areas) have grown, using concentric-ring theory, sector theory, and multiple-nuclei theory. Each shows different shapes of land-use areas. A good website showing more info is http://geobytesgcse.blogspot.com/2007/02/urban-land-use-models.html
