A Level English Language

Hi, my name is Ella and I'm approaching my a level exams. I would find a bit of extra help very useful because I'm doing this A level through distance learning. I want to achieve at least a B, and get into the university of my choice (my offer is BBB). My specification is AQA 7702. Help with effectively tackling the question is much needed. If you think you can help, I am willing to pay for online sessions in the run up to my exams (14th June, 20th June) so please reply to this message.

Thanks Ella

ensure a spot in retirement

Our month to find out how little we could spend and still survive. Up to this point, we’d been Christmas and Easter frugalists, dipping in and out of fiscal prudence where it suited us, saving enough to ensure ourselves a spot in retirement, but also buying things like a handcrafted turquoise- and- brown embroidered collar ........

  • I don't understand what 'ensure ourselves a spot in retirement,' means. Please help me.

tefl exam question. Help!

I am in the middle of my tefl exam, and I am struggling on 1 question only : Imagine you are teaching the phonemes /l/ and /r/ (/r/ for 'right' and /l/ for 'love'). Your aim is to help your students distinguish between the two sounds and pronounce them as accurately as possible. Remind yourself of the stages (p6) of teaching sounds you covered in module 6 and describe step by step how you would teach these sounds. Remember to give details of a communicative activity at the end. Write about 200 words. I do understand the concept, and stages, Demo, Drill, Check, Do it, Iam struggling on explaining the step by step process i.e. : words to use for the drill section, and phrases / sentences to use to drill the target sound.

This seems to be a punctuation nightmare. I want the question mark in there, but it doesn't feel right to start a new sentence directly after it. It feels as though there should be a comma. What is the correct form?
