Calculators in context- money

hello, i was wondering if anyone could answer this question and explain, i will be happy if you do so.

'Work out each of these, giving your answers to the nearest penny.' a) £950÷24 b) £551÷12

ok well on the calculator display you're going to get 39.58333333 for (a) To work it out to the nearest penny is the same as being asked to round to 2 decimal places so for this one it's simply £39.58 because 3 is less than 5 so we don't need to round up

45.91666667 is the calculator display for (b) and in this instance we do have to round it up to being £45.92 as 6 is greater than 5
