Ok so you have to multiply each term inside the brackets by x^1/2.
3x X x^1/2 = x^3/2 (because you're basically adding the indicies of x^1 and x^1/2)
Then x^-2 X x^1/2 = x^-3/2 (because you're adding -2 to 1/2)
So you answer is 3x^3/2 + x^-3/2
