I aim to help children in their preparation for their 11+ entrance exams in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning. My teaching approach makes sure that pupils are going at a pace they are comfortable with whilst also pushing them to ensure they get the best out of their tutoring session.
I have a degree in English Literature and Drama from the University of Manchester and am looking to teach primary and secondary level students. I am engaging and fun (at least I like to think so!) and have experience working with children of different ages and also children with special needs. My methodology would depend on the teaching age and also the aims of the lessons.
The role of teaching takes on a broad responsibility of educating a student creatively, intellectually and emotionally. As an artist, with poetry and philosophy forming the backbone to my approach, I will be able to guide the student to cope with any anxieties, fears and apprehensions they may have when completing work. Pressure and stress can stall a person's ability to think.
Before teaching any student, I like to sit with them and find out a little bit about there own personal strengths and weaknesses based on a chosen subject. I would then plan each lesson to ensure that the student feels like they have left with more knowledge and a more positive outlook on an area of weakness to the point where they no longer consider it a weakness.
My teaching method is quite strict yet relaxed. i base my method off of what i’ve learnt and what i have discovered works well.
Most of my students do not enjoy the subject when I first meet them. My aim is to find an area of the subject that links to something they enjoy. Through this, I feel that a connection can be made and an improvement in the subject is extremely attainable.
Be prepared with an empty folder because I am here to fill you in with old papers and lots of writings.
An enthusiastic tutor with a passion for the Humanities, I am currently working on a PhD thesis at Queen Mary University of London, and hold an MA and BA from the University of Bristol. I believe in encouraging pupils to take charge of their own learning and to critically evaluate their own work to achieve their full potential.
I am an enthusiastic, highly organised and dedicated tutor who has a passion for finding creative ways to explain difficult concepts and seeing my students gain confidence and make progress in areas they previously found difficult. I tutor children from primary age up to undergraduate degree level. I also tutor children in 11+ entrance exam preparation.
Classics is a largely misunderstood subject. It's no longer a widely spoken language, but the affect that the Latin and (Ancient) Greek languages have had on European and North African culture is important in contemporary society.
I make sure my student understands what they are learning all the time by asking them questions and setting homework for them to do, I also give tests to assess their progress. I believe that practicing consistently is the key to success.
After getting to know my students I try to cater my lesson plans to their specific needs. Using creativity and organisation in the preparation so they can make the most of my teaching. My main goal is personalising my lessons.
Hello, I'm Baptiste. Originally from the UK, France and Japan, I've had a diverse upbringing. In 2017, I accepted my place to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, USA), but deferred it for 2018 because I passionately believe in the merits of a gap year. I passed the entrance tests for Westminster School, Haberdasher's, Highgate, City of London, Queen Elizabeth Boys and UCS.
I am a second year chemistry student who studies at Queen Mary University of London. I have been tutoring for over 2 years- both voluntary and paid.
My teaching method is to focus on consistency and repetition, doing fun and engaging exercises to open up the creative mind and going over past papers.
My teaching method is unique interns of understanding each students ability and applying the appropriate methods to strengthen their weak points whether it be lacking in creativity, improving spelling or finding themselves without ideas in the middle of an exam, i can especially help students with their creativity.
My teaching method is finding ways that work for each individual child. Discovering methods a child can use to make learning accessible. I specialise in younger children, but have experience working with early secondary school, and knowledge to work with older students. I believe in being consistent and persistent and if a student can implement this they can learn, consolidate, and succeed.
My main teaching method is to first analyse where the student is at and then help them using curriculums and past papers
I can teach students doing their GCSE's or A-Levels. The most effective ways to revise are by planning questions and focusing on writing style. Our lessons will mostly focus on these elements. However, if there are other aspects that you would prefer to focus on then I can aid you with those too.
Using various tools to tailor the lessons to students'needs, abilities and level. Uses of books, web sites, various activities and situations to stimulate and motivate students, films and discussions. Writing and oral work covered and comprehension and reading practice given accordingly.
My teaching method is quite flexible and will often depend on each individual student and their preferred learning styles. I base my lessons around the current curriculum - can be AQA/Edexel/OCR (for GCSE or A-level) or up to KS3 level. I tend to approach each topic in smaller sections and break core units etc. down into easier to absorb sub-units.
With my GCSE and A-Level students we work alongside the curriculum and what is expected to attain top marks in each specific exam. We work on the areas of weakness as I analyse each student individually, I can tailor my lessons to targeted practice. We will be working towards exam practice; this will be aided with exemplars from top students who have achieved the best marks in similar papers.
I base my teaching on each students individual strengths and weaknesses - I am a firm believer of keeping lessons fun and interactive as I believe this allows each students to take in a lot more information as they are relaxed and willing to learn! That being said, I ensure to target all areas which need to be worked on in order to make the most of each lesson, with a plan being prepared...
My teaching method includes obtaining a thorough and indepth understanding of the topic and then tackling past papres to identify areas of weaknesses. Furthermore, I aim to give lessons to primary and secondary school pupils wishing to achieve high grades.
I seek to use a range of teaching methods during sessions. I usually include a discursive element to try and encourage the student to analyse a piece of writing themselves whilst guiding the discussion. One of the fundamental benefits of individual tuition is that I am able to tailor the lessons to the students' learning style.
With an worked example based approach, I can either provide extra material or we can clear up material that you bring to the session. This is aimed at GCSE level (or equivalent) and below for core subjects, and French Latin and Philosophy at A-Level equivalent.
I am very hard working and have worked constantly on my interpersonal skills meaning my means of engaging with others is very effective. I plan to go over a certain concept and explain it in detail to my student, putting it in context in order for them to have enhanced understanding. Then I will give them little tests and quizzes to test their knowledge of that lesson.
I specialise in providing online lessons for 11+ and GCSE English students. If you want to focus on your creative writing, we will take a more broad approach, and I will adapt the lessons to your areas of struggle, and if you want more help with your analytical writing, we will approach some texts that I will provide, or any that you are studying for exams.
my teaching methods are very student based; I like to plan lessons and activities based on each pupil's individual needs and learning pace. I am a very easy going and approachable person, which I think is very good when being a tutor because it means pupils can feel comfortable speaking to me and asking questions.
I offer lessons for Primary, GCSE and A-level students. I always adapt my teaching style according to the needs of each student's in order to ensure improved confidence which in turn leads to academic progress. I firmly believe that the key to success is hard work, and I encourage my students accordingly.
