My first concern is to get to know you, your interests, skills and passions. Being creative is a very personal and exposing thing, developing your confidence in your abilities as well as your trust in me as a tutor is key. Getting to know you will help me to form lesson plans that spark your own exciting ideas that projects can develop from.
Lack of confidence in art can be a huge barrier to overcome. My lessons focus on developing confidence and there is much encouragement to experiment and take risks without the worry of failure. I enjoy combining a variety of methods and media in my own work, and this is something I can deliver if required.
My teaching method will revolve around the free program Krita that anyone can use -- working in the right size documents, fixing perspective and creating dynamic figures that might come to life at any moment. Traditional works will be created using ink, pencils and pens.
I given lessons to primary school children and also secondary school children but only to year 9 then after that I only do revision lessons for them so they turn independent. So my method of teaching, whatever the homework the child will get I will go over that and help but then I will also go over the lessons they had in class so then they know what they are doing.
My teaching method is to research, explore, mind map and create exciting ideas to generate a final exciting outcome.
Art and Design is completely personal to the student and follows no specific methodologies in approach to teaching. It is important that the student completes all of the art themselves and recognises their development.
My teaching method is to approach certain topics from the beginning and the easiest way for you to understand. Communicating to you as a friend and not so teacher/bossy. I have learned this method from my own teachers in high school and college.
