I cater for all ages and abilities by differentiating learning to suit the individuals' needs. Initially, I breakdown areas of study in to a personalised plan for the student. Questions they have previously been unsuccessful in answering are useful to help identify areas they need to improve. During sessions we discuss their understanding and then complete problems together.
BSc in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of York as well as an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from Newcastle University.
I live in South Shields so I offer my services to anyone where I can get the bus, as in my title I'm going to be doing my GCSEs next year so I'm 14, my strong areas are: algebra, substitution, decimal multiplication, re arranging formula and trigonometry. My friends say that id o help very well in helping them understand and know how to do certain things in maths.
I am currently on a gap year, starting dentistry in september 2018. I am willing to teach other students A level chemistry in order to enhance their confidence and grades in exams. My methods of teaching depend on the student, however - I ask open questions, to identify areas the student is struggling.
Can offer slides on topics with exam questions to help practise as we go along.
ABOUT MY SESSIONS The structure of my sessions depends on the needs of the student. I can structure sessions in the form of content, so teaching you by asking questions of key terms etc and giving you the key points needed for your GCSE examination. I make effort to include exam questions into my sessions.
I believe that initially it is important to sit down with student to figure out their strengths and weaknesses before we start the tutoring so that I can prepare my materials accordingly. Then we will work on the theory of each of these topics and move on to practice questions because I believe that that is the best way to consolidate your understanding.
I aproach each topics by delivering the key facts/main points first and then build up on each topic with challenging questions which will require the application of the knowledge learned so that the students fully understand the topic. Additionally, I like to start with the basics and build up the difficulty level to push a students ability.
I assess what you know and don’t know and then help you to fill in the gaps until you know everything you need to know to excell In the subject
I'm Harriet, a science teacher with over fifteen years experience educating a wide range of students from gifted and talented to students with special educational needs. About myself: Valentina, Italian, almost 30yo, in UK since 2015. I used to live in London, working for the V&A museum. I also lived in Portugal and Brasil. I am friendly and very patient , extremely organised and open minded. About my studies: I studied BSc and MSc in Chemistry applied to the cultural heritage. i.e. all the knowlege one need to be the analyst in museums' labs.
I usually prepare teaching material (powerpoints, past papers, interactive tasks) based on the topics you are struggling with before the session. I've found from previous lessons that preparing a powerpoint helps keep structure to the session and then going through past-paper questions after enables you to test your understanding.
My teaching methods are very practical. I quote examples from daily life to give a better understanding of the subject to my students. I use simple way of explaining the problems. The main concept of the topic is important to fully understand.
I am a qualified Science teacher and chemistry specialist. I have taught chemistry, biology, physics and maths at GCSE and Chemistry and BTEC science at A level. I will tutor secondary students, GCSE, A level and Undergraduate students. I will focus a lot around applying knowledge and lots of questions, to get you to come to answers with hints along the way.
My general approach is interactive and as a guide rather than spoon feeding. Repetition and applying methods is also important to learning. I have taught lots of students with different personalities and needs, so I have experience adapting myself to this. I regularly coach undergraduates through their final year practical projects.
My method is simple. First of all, I take my time to understand the student's strength and weakness and then take it from there. This enables me to know the best approach applicable as different tutees have unique capabilities, but in the end success is a common factor they all share.
I am second year pharmacy student at the University of Sunderland. I am able to tutor high school students of any age of class in chemistry and other related sciences except physics. I offer a well structured and easy mode of learning as I do enjoy that myself.
I can be very flexible regarding how I convey my lessons and will tailor them to meet any individuals needs.
I am a young, vibrant tutor with some experience in teaching the sciences. I'm current in my 2nd year of my MPhys course, studying at Newcastle University. I teach my subjects in a way to make them entertaining and meaningful. Lessons can either be face-to-face or online, but will always involve discussions and will be active. Science can be fun if it is looked at in the right way.
Hello there! I am an engineering student at Newcastle University, but I have been teaching Maths and the Sciences for about 5-6 years now, starting when I was still in secondary school. I love teaching and I have lots of experience on one-to-one tutoring.
I like to approach subjects with concentration on the basics and find ways to relate topics to regular life. With an understanding of fundamentals, I then aim to make things as simple as possible. I interlink topics across subjects and teach with practical examples.
I hold a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the Newcastle University. I have extensive academic and industrial experience which puts me in a good stead to teach the sciences with a very practical bias. I am able to teach chemistry and physics at all levels. I am a very cheerful and positive person with a passion for motivating people to achieve their dreams.
Over the years I have tutored hundreds of A-level chemistry students. My lessons are based around developing exam technique as well as improving understanding. I recently produced a full set of new teaching resources and practise questions for the new specifications, which I share with all my students (the new specifications started in September 2015).
I teach my classes in a methodical way, addressing topics in systematised fashion, dependent on what exam board the student is learning, and/or suited to their learning style. I understand the importance of student success and ensuring they perform to the best of their ability. I strive for excellence and feel rewarding in seeing others succeed.
I have finished A level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and wish to help others studying these subjects at any level. Lessons can include teaching or revising methods, going over example questions and help with exam technique, in whichever areas you feel you need to work on.
I am a teacher of maths, chemistry and physics. I teach from GCSE upto A/Levels. I also teach C1,C2,C3 and C4. Also M1,M2,S1 and S2. also further mathematics. my teaching techniques is very practical with the easiest pedagogy to help students understand the taught concept. I avoid the long method rather apply the shortest possible route to arrive at the answer.
Understanding of core principles and mechanisms is vital. Rote learning and memorization can hardly ever work. We will work together so that you can develop your understanding and make sense of every topic. Please have your specification ready, so I can look into this to devise a structured session plan. This way we will ensure to cover everything you need to know.
i did find from my own experience is that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it’s usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace.
Exam questions are the basis of my revision technique, going through a question step-by-step and making sure you understand. Then repeating these techniques and harder questions, maximising your marks.
Hi, I am a recent MSc Drug Chemistry graduate from Newcastle University with Distinction. I am hoping to offer tutoring mainly in Organic, Inorganic, Analytical and Physical Chemistry. All discoveries in science were made because of the curious minds and the scientists' interests in the topic.
