I use a student led teaching approach where I aim to get to know my students well and tailor the content to their interests and aspirations. I am calm, patient and believe that all students can learn and make progress, it's about finding the way that works for them.
I believe firmly in lessons based around active learning as both maths and chemistry are hands on subjects. This revolves around introducing a concept, a worked example and then working through plenty of questions exploring a variety of applications of the concept.
I hаve аn interаctive and “to the point” аpprоаch tо tutoring and learning which makes each lesson interesting and easier to “digest” while maintaining the academic focus and saving time for my students. Also, I am highly organized and have been very successful at helping my students with careful and systematic planning during stressful exam periods.
My teaching is well structured, differentiated and consistent. I model how to complete tasks and teach the children how to do their own modelling of different concepts to encourage them to have the confidence and ambition to work independently and so realise their full potential.
I prefer to have the first lesson to analyze the syllabus and allocate how much time we should spend on each topic. Once I have completed a topic, i give practice questions to give a more practical application and guage the students understanding. After i have completed the syllabus and questions specific to topics, i then give past exam papers which i mark and give feedback.
My teaching method is simple yet precise, introducing each topic from the basics and gradually building up an inderstanding more complex ideas. I have a bank of questions and solved solutions to aid with question practice and methodology which are all included in my session price.
I approach my first lessons by doing a general test/ evaluation of the student's understanding of the subject. Once marking and explaining the correct answers in detail, I will then work on the student's weak points with them. This will include creating posters, cheat-sheets, example questions while reassuring them that they are highly capable of improving.
I'm currently a student at the Exeter Mathematics School looking to help Secondary School students with their Mathematics. Given the new GCSE's graded 1 to 9, the difficulty of Mathematics at the secondary school level has risen greatly and a lot of students struggle with it's memory oriented exams.
A highly motivated and dedicated student Of mechanical engineering with extensive tutoring experience in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics. I’ve been teaching these subjects privately to GCSE/O-LEVEL and Alevel students from 4 years now helping 100's of students achieve their academic goals. I on average manage to get my students achieve 2 grades higher than their predicted grades..
My teaching method includes doing a lot of examples and past papers, practising methods until things make sense.
I am a qualified Performing Arts teacher who has also been teaching Maths in private tuitions for more than 25 years.
With over 30 years experience of teaching children and young people from 4 - 18 years old, I am available to provide a range of services in a 15 miles radius from Hythe: Tutoring - pre-school readiness, basic literacy and numeracy ages 4 - adult, SATS, Kent test, general homework support, Maths to GCSE level 4, English to A' level, exam revision techniques.
My teaching style is largely flexible as I understand that different individuals prefer different methods of learning. In general, I plan lessons in advance based on the key areas that the student wishes to cover. I gauge the level of each student individually to ensure that lessons are neither too easy nor too hard, to keep lessons helpful and interesting.
MSci Chemistry undergraduate student at University College London with a keen interest in sharing my passion to others towards chemistry and maths. I am patient, friendly and enjoy teaching. My main goal is to improve my tutee's grades, confidence and most of all their strong fundamental understanding towards the subject.
I am a passionate and experienced tutor, my teaching style adapts to the student. However, my main goal is to build confidence and enable the student to develop a way of learning that suits them and gives them the tools they need to learn successfully by themselves in the future.
I tailor my sessions entirely on my students and work off their strengths and weaknesses. They control what content we cover and time allocation on each topic.
I am studying physics at Oxford University (entry 2015) and received a Distinction in the first year and a First Class in the second year. I started from a small village in Greece and got into university by teaching myself physics and maths because I could not afford otherwise. Eventually, I scored high in the PAT (physics aptitude test) and the Oxford interviews.
I have only had experience teaching GCSE and A Level, but would consider helping out undergraduates. As a scientist, I wholeheartedly believe in the value of teaching from first principles. You don't have to remember how to do something if you understand the concept. I also did not achieve my full potential in A Level, but I went on to achieve well at university.
I use personalised tutoring to compliment learners school/college maths lessons by keeping regular communication with the topics covered in class to reinforce core mathematical concepts and revise for specific forthcoming tests/examinations. This has resulted in learners achieving their goals, whether that be moving up a set in school or acceptance into their 1st choice Russel Group University.
When you're really stuck with Maths, it sucks, isn't it? I remember how a little bit of one to one tutoring had helped me develop a logical way of tackling problems. My teaching focuses on the following: 1. Reading the question damn right 2. Visualising what it's asking 3. Going backwards 4. Consider quicker alternative methods (i.e. symmetry) 5. Understanding of the concepts 6.
I am a petroleum engineer with experience in field and in research as well, currently doing a MSc. I have taught to University students mainly studying engineering or areas involved with maths. But I have also taught to students in secondary or high school from basic algebra, trigonometry to multi variable calculus. I have taught to small groups (3 or 4 people) or individually.
I am a Blackpool Sixth Form College student who is taking A-level Maths, A-level Chemistry, A-level Biology. For my GCSE maths I was in the top 2% of the country and achieved an A**. I am quite good at slowing methods down and explaining stuff step-by-step.
Hi! I'm a Second Year student studying Natural Sciences at Christ's College, Cambridge. This year I began to specialise in Physics and Maths, but I also have plenty of experience in Chemistry.
My teaching method is to create a checklist of what the student would like to cover in the next lesson so that I have time to compile resources for the student in the lesson. My mum is also a maths teacher so I use her input to help me access resources for lessons.
My lessons are personally tailored to you and your specific needs, to help you get the best results at all levels of CIE mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus. My lessons will be very conversational, helping you to understand the mathematical concepts.
I would only really give lessons to those students who really want to learn as i believe they are the students who thrive and this is usually A-level students. The style of my teaching is different for every student because no student is the same, but i always make sure that i never leave the student behind, only proceeding once the student is happy.
The aspect of work that most distinguishes the top students from the rest is the number of past questions they complete. For this reason my classes general follow a pattern of me teaching for around a third of our time, completing questions based on that topic for the next third and then completing questions on topics previously encountered for the final third.
I like to teach via the Socratic Method pedagogy. This involves asking questions to encourage the formulation of answers as the true learning outcome. This is especially important in the subjects I wish to teach as concepts shouldn't just be remembered but understood to provide a solid foundation for future modules.
I can explain complex concepts in a simple way using intuitive examples. I use practical approaches to teach the most abstract concepts. My primary goal of teaching is to create genuine interest for the subject by making the fundamentals crystal clear. I believe there is no alternative to hard work - and I'll put all effort for my students to thrive.
I am a qualified maths teacher with previous experience teacher all abilities from the age of 11-16. I also have experience with working in a tutoring centre that tutored from the age of 5 up. I have a 2:1 bachelors degree with honours in Economics.
