I prefer online methodologies as one can access the mark schemes, past papers, videos, online assessments, and we can both write on the text box whilst chatting on video. I have taught students the whole course in 9 months and some have achieved A*. Needless to say, one needs to be well motivated in order to achieve that sort of success but it can be done.
I am 25 years old, I have a BA in Politics from Cambridge University, I also received a Humanities award from the Council of Independent Education in the House of Lords for my A Levels. I can teach Secondary, AS, A Levels and Undergraduates Lessons would vary based on the student, but i am a firm believer with writing subjects that the more writing and reading you do the better.
Highly attentive and engaging tutor with substantive experience in the social sciences. My methods of instruction seek to apply a wide range of thinking to a topic to ensure the best levels can be achieved.
Understand the objectives of the student or discussant and work within the student's parameters whether that is to pass an examination or provide a stimulating opportunity for a discussant to explore the topic.
I am available to give instruction from AS/A-level to undergraduate studies. Beside relevant course material; I can instruct in memorisation techniques, as well as means of coping with anxiety and stress. I prefer a conversational approach, and the use of debate to help students gain more confidence in their knowledge base.
I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher. I can tutor on humanities and social sciences. I have worked both with higher education and school level students. I believe teaching is about empowering students using their strengths. Knowledge must come from their own development with the content and having me as a catalyst to this process.
My teaching methodology is [most of the time] up to students level of learning. I always ask students suggestions and consider their demands. I usually prefer power point and going through reading sometimes but this may change if student have a better offer..
Given the wide age and ability range I teach my teaching methodology is varied, and I very much aim to tailor the method to suit the individuals requirements and learning style. This might range from teaching students how to answer exam questions or how to approach essays, to Kagean or thinking skills more kinesthetic and collaborative learning.
I base my lessons on what the student wants to study from their syllabus, and will later focus on the topics they need most help with. We will aim to go through your syllabus for your exams, and make sure that you are fully prepared for any exams or coursework you have.
My aim is always to build a positive and supportive relationship with students. I develop tutoring programmes with the student so that our work together is clearly focused on areas that they have identified for development. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I have taught History, Psychology, Sociology, English, Geography and RE. I have also tutored for Functional Skills and Study Skills.
I am an encouraging and patient tutor. I do not force information on my students or expect them to understand content in an unreasonable time. Instead, I pride myself on being a good tutor by listening to my students and make the effort to explain content in different ways.
My teaching method depends entirely on you. If you want to improve rapidly in a singular area such as Religious Studies, then my tutelage shall be concentrated and concisely directed in that area. If you'd prefer advice across several subjects, then my method will be more diverse and generalised -perhaps taking more time but ensuring to cover each subject thoroughly.
I believe that good teaching and learning is based upon: 1) developing understanding of subject matter through critical thinking and enquiry 2) developing self-belief, self-confidence and self-expression 3) combining the above with independent study. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I work in most aspects of management and social sciences, from foundation degree to PhD.
I am a truly enthusiastic individual with a love for students and teaching, diligent and self-motivated. One of my greatest strengths as an educator is inspiring students, increase their motivation and helping them reach their full potentials. I help them grow beyond the evaluation process to become successful in both education and life, while maintaining a warm and creative approach.
Formerly a university lecturer and a fully qualified teacher (PGCE). I am currently a junior partner in an educational centre, teaching A level Psychology, GCSE Biology/English and preparation for 11+ and 13+. I have a proven track record of success. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Psychology, English, Biology, Health & Social Care, Sociology - Tell me about your qualifications.
I base my classes on what the individual requires or needs assistance on. I base my teaching with the specification as well as the sociology textbook written by the examiners. I also help with exam technique and answering exam questions.
Working from the syllabus of a module/subject, I will refresh information regarding a topic area. Quiz and make sure that information is received well and is understood ready for exam or essay preparation. Ensuring that information required is learnt well and understood, students will be assisted by myself in preparing arguments and evidence ready for application on exams or essays/homework.
With subjects such as Sociology and the Humanities, I believe being able to visualise theories/timelines/processes is the most beneficial way to learn. For areas such as Maths and Science, I see constant repetition as the best method, and attempt to make this as fun as possible.
Hi! My name is Harrie Lyons and I am 21 years old. I believe actions speak louder than words, so I have offered money back to any student not satisfied with their first lesson. So far I haven't had to give back anything! - Which subject(s) do you teach? Any humanities or essay based subject.
I started teaching English in 1994. From 1998 I have been heavily involved in teacher education and teacher training which means that I have a vast amount of experience to tap into. I have worked with children as young as four years old and supported adults through GCSES and Undergraduate degrees. I am a published academic. My articles can be found on Google Scholar.
I am able to give lessons to those taking sociology as an A level. I am flexible with my teaching methods, if you are someone who needs to take it slowly we can go one step at a time until everything clicks into place with you, alternatively if you feel like you need to go further into detail of a topic we can delve into that as well.
I believe teaching and learning can only take place against a backdrop of mutual respect and support. I also believe that learning should be a life long process. My teaching methods engage all three types of learners, audio, visual and kinaesthetic. Both achievable and aspirational targets are set and constant feedback provided.
I'm super easy going and really enjoy my field of study so always have a positive approach! I've worked with first and second-year students at university.
My Structure is very simple. It is a very hands on approach, and very much based on the particular needs of the student.
The most important thing for me is that my students understand the information they are learning. Therefore I find a great deal of importance in tailoring my lessons structures and teaching methods to one that suits each specific student. I do like to set my students questions to do to ensure that they understand the material and to highlight areas I need to go over again.
I use a variety of teaching methods which involves both the teacher and student centred approach. My role is to involve and engage learners within the classroom environment.I am keen to maintain a topical interest in the subject matter by encouraging studets to discuss relevant issues and to relate the topics to the students experiences.
I am able to offer lessons to any level of student, whether that is for GCSEs, A-levels, or degree-level.
Initial lessons will be to gauge where we will be starting from, and from then uniquely tailored lesson plans can be created. I prefer 2 hour sessions, and will supply a tightly scheduled lesson that will target weaknesses first - then pinpoint areas to adapt and improve to help achieve the highest grades possible.
I am a friendly, very approachable, supportive individual who has a BSc (1st class) Hons and MSc (distinction in Psychology. I can teach from secondary school up to & including degree level for Psychology. Lesson will last for 1 hour and consist of explaining and discussing the subject topic online, with power-points.
I believe that no two people are ever the same and that they, therefore, require a patient and considered approach specifically tailored to them. This can range from short lectures, memory games, or even simple conversations. Whatever your need or learning preference, I will help you to personally engage with the subjects and spark that interest that will motivate you beyond the tutoring itself.
