I would love my students to immerse themselves in the Spanish culture as much as possible, to fully appreciate the language and develop a more authentic style. For this I would be looking for more advanced students to engage in discussion and debate over trending topics in Spain, along with books and films, using this to develop grammar and greater ability for speech and comprehension of Spanish.
I believe in mostly oral lessons as speaking the language reinforces grammar points. Lessons start off with a grammatical focus point and a discussion is held for the lesson on the topic. New vocabulary is introduced during the sessions either through a checklist or by reading an authentic piece of Spanish text.
I teach with a sense of fun and with great patience. Until my student/s are comfortable with a class we do not move on. I build into sentences that make sense so that my student has a sense of achievement in a very short time. I also like to record their voice so that they grasp a good accent right from the beginning. I have 20 years experience with all ages and levels.
Lessons tailored to your specific needs, interests and adapted to your skills. Based on the communicative approach, but always paying attention to grammar. I create my own teaching materials, using a wide range of interesting authentic resources. Expertise in GCSE and A-Level Spanish and fully preparation for the new specification.
Communicative approach with a range of strategies, including games, jokes and songs to match the style of the students. I use the methods most appreciated by the student in question, in order to taylor the course to their very individual needs.
I have a PGCE in MFL (passed with Outstanding), a Master's Degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Cultures and a Bachelor's Degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures (both first-class degrees). I teach langauges starting from verbs conjugations and then I move to vocabulary and full sentences. Anyway, I generally adapt my methods to my students' needs.
It is base on the knowledge of the student, their interests. From them, I plan the classes so they are learning about subjects they like, writing and talking. The other part is the practical part, a conversation (shopping, travelling, asking questions when they need information). Obviously, there is always a homework and learning a song.
My teaching methods would be the 'Facilitator/Activity' style. Rather than 'lecturing' information and testing knowledge purely of memorisation, I interact with the student. This encourages them to ask questions and develop their own investigatory skills and a deeper understanding of the subject.
My name is Esperanza. I am a student in the University of Sussex. I am native from Granada, in the south of Spain. Also I have been a dance teacher (street dance) for three years.
I already have several resources for teaching but I like to base my teaching methods on my students as individuals.
First, I prepare and deliver guided learning: producing appropriate schemes of work/lesson plans; promoting the effective use of individual learning plans and use technology to improve outcomes for students. Second, Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
eaching a language is also teaching a culture. So I think that watching films in Spanish really helps in the learning process. Of course, if a student is only interested in learning vocabulary and verbs I can change my teaching method without a problem.
I approach each topic by dividing it up into small chunks to make the material more digestible. I make an effort to keep the lessons simple and well-structured to avoid confusion and help students remember the material more easily. I base my classes on everyday conversations and familiar topics to keep the student engaged.
I am a Spanish native speaker from Valencia, Spain. I am 21 year old and I will spend one semester in Guildofrd, as I am an Erasmus student taking classes of the Translation degree.
I base my lessons on what areas the student needs most support in, and use methods to guide them and help them as to what works most efficiently towards reaching their potential. At the same time I will provide resources and my knowledge so that they can access everything they need.
Everyone has different methods of learning, especially with languages, but after being thrown into Spanish school, while not speaking a word of the language, and coming back to the UK fluent after only 4 years, I have had to teach myself many methods of learning the language.
I am a graduate Spanish teacher. I have worked as a private teacher since 2010 either teaching Spanish and giving general academic support to students from different levels (from primary school to university). I have also had professional experience supporting children with specials needs in their studies.
I base my classes in speaking reading listening and writing. if the student want i theach him gramatic for school or for her job or university. I also speak Galician lenguage, this is similar to Portuguese. Galician and Spanish are my native lenguages.
I believe each student have different ways of learning, so I always make sure to ask them which method suits him/her best. I'm a very didactic and resourceful person and try to get my classes very interactive, fun, yet getting amazing results.
I am a student currently on a gap year, I hope to go to University next September to do teacher training. I studied Spanish up to A Level and am a patient person with a love for the Spanish culture. Spanish vocabulary, grammar and speaking practise are my specialist areas.
