About Haris
I recently finished a year at Heriot Watt studying Actuarial Sciences (mixture of maths, statistics and finance and accounting). I hated it and about a week ago received an offer to study dentistry which has always been my dream. I have a very organised schedule. I like to spend time in the gym about 5-6 times a week, also like to play basketball any chance I get. I come from a religious background (Islam). I teach in a way a teacher normally wouldn’t. I will always get the students to write up notes after each lesson so they can take some time on their own to digest the information they have learnt.
I will go through information, explaining in huge detail and asking lots of questions to the students so as to make sure they understand everything being taught to them. This can include me asking a question on a topic I just covered 5 mins ago for example, to make sure they are learning and understanding each step of the way. Active recall and spaced repetition is pivotal in understanding information.
