About James
Hi, I’m James, a second-year Physics BSc student at the University of Leeds. For a bit about myself I enjoy running, I ran the Leeds marathons earlier this year. I personally found GCSEs and A-levels challenging at times, so I know firsthand what it’s like to struggle with a subject. That experience taught me how to actually learn effectively, not just memorise, and I want to pass that on. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping students build the confidence and skills they need to do well.

My approach focuses on building genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation, breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps and connecting theory to real examples. Lessons typically run one to two hours, structured around explanation, worked examples, and practice questions tailored to the student’s exam board. As a Physics BSc student at the University of Leeds (entering 2nd year), I have a strong, up-to-date grasp of GCSE and A-level maths and physics, having recently sat these exams myself. I work with GCSE and A-level students, helping them build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and prepare effectively for assessments through past paper practice and targeted exam technique.
