About Olivia
Hi! I’m Olivia, a friendly and approachable undergraduate studying Physics and Chemistry at the University of St Andrews. I recently sat National 5s, Highers, and Advanced Highers myself, so I understand exactly how it feels to be on the student side of things — especially when exams feel overwhelming or the syllabus seems confusing. I achieved As in both Physics and Chemistry at Advanced Higher, along with 5 As at Higher, and in my first year at university, I’ve taken general modules in maths, physics, and chemistry. I’ve recently started tutoring more formally, but I’ve helped younger pupils with their National 5s, assisted in an S1 science class, and regularly supported friends and younger students with homework and revision — all of which have shaped my patient and clear teaching style.

* Hi! I’m Olivia, a friendly and approachable undergraduate studying Physics and Chemistry at the University of St Andrews. Having recently sat National 5s, Highers, and Advanced Highers myself, I understand exactly how it feels to be on the student side of things — especially when exams feel overwhelming or the syllabus seems confusing. * Achieving As in both Physics, and Chemistry at Advanced Higher along with 5 As at Higher, means I know how to succeed across Scottish exams. In my first year at university I have taken general modules in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. * I offer tutoring in Physics, Chemistry and Maths at National 5 and Higher level, and my teaching style is calm, supportive and tailored to each student. I like to build confidence by breaking topics down clearly, working through plenty of examples and focusing on the areas that matter most for your course. Whether you’re stuck on tricky concepts or just need a boost to reach the next grade, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you get there. * I’m very familiar with the Scottish curriculum, including SQA exam formats and marking schemes. My recent experience means I can share tips that worked for me and highlight common pitfalls to avoid. * My lessons are interactive and flexible focusing on achieving a functional understanding rather than just memorisation — we can go through past paper questions, review classwork, or explore topics in a fresh way that actually makes sense. *I’ve recently started tutoring more formally, but I have experience helping younger pupils with their National 5s and assisting in an S1 science class during my final year of school. I also regularly supported friends and younger students with homework and revision, which helped me develop a patient and clear teaching style.
