About Rubin
The smell of old wood and stage dust defined my 13 years spent performing acoustic sets across the South. My teaching style is quite playful and relies on the hands-on wisdom I gained while earning my music degree from USC.
You will develop performance confidence, master warm-up exercises, and refine your vibrato control with my guidance. We also look at diction and articulation, microphone technique, and essential vocal health and care.
I help you expand your vocal range and master sight singing techniques. I am here to help you find your voice while you play. I really enjoy watching a student find their unique sound.

Sing to play rather than playing to sing is my core philosophy. Voice is secondary. I use my 13 years of gigging to show you the ropes. You receive recorded warm-up routines shared for daily home practice.
This material helps you stay consistent between our sessions. We cover 10 steps to refine your technique.
You will learn to control your breath and pitch. I prioritize your long-term vocal health over quick fixes. Each session is built around your specific needs.
My background at USC informs every bit of our technical work. I hope you enjoy the process of singing as much as I do.
