About Mackenzie
I am currently in my second year of teaching 4th grade, for the upcoming school year I will be teaching 3rd grade. I graduated from Saint Cloud State University with a 3.6 GPA, while on a scholarship. I have always wanted to be a teacher and inspire children to gain confidence with their knowledge. In school I was never a student who cared about their grades or if homework was done. Having that perspective helps me to connect with students that need motivation to get better grades or just try their best in school. While on my teaching journey, I have really enjoyed getting to know my students and watching them get their "lightbulb" moments!

I have two years' experience with teaching 4th grade. My lesson plan starts with showing a student(s) how to solve a problem, talking about the work we had to do, and talking through the answer. Students will have many practice problems to work through, once a student is confident with the skill, they will do an assessment to make sure they understood the content. I am able to work with students from grades Pre-K through 4th grade in both math and language arts. I would be a great tutor for your student because I have learned the specific way to teach students content. I really like being able to set my students up for success and making sure that they understand the content rather than just giving them answers.
