My teaching method is to give the kids problems and let them try it, and guide them on the way. For example if someone is trying to solve 12^2+22-5. I would ask them which part they do first, let’s say they say the subtraction, I would tell them to try and remember the order, and lead them into the right direction. When they get that right then I would help make sure they doing it correct and give them tips to do it themselves. Then give them more practice problems until they master it
